Things That Gladden The Heart

My good lady and I have joined South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture. £10 a month each gives us "free" access to lots of different activities. She's been struggling since retiring in March and this has really made a difference. She now dies 3-4 activities a week and is much happier in herself. I did my first Activage fitness training this morning and really enjoyed it.
Wait for tomorrow for my post in Random Situations where I'll be complaining about the aches from today.

First individual gymnastics title for my Daughter today, 1st/1st/2nd/3rd was good enough for 1st overall - she was absolutely buzzing, I’m even more so as she had to overcome some nerves & tears in her floor warm over one of tumbles, she ended up 1st on floor!

I’d better get round to putting up the trophy shelf!

i don't know why this "gladdens my heart" but......
Cooking evening meal for 4 adults and grandson tonight. Just me and grandson at home.
Baby carrots boiling slowly on hob.
Took a phone call from golf pal.
After a while I sniffed the air (living room) and said "Hang on, I think my carrots are burning!" and hung up.
Grandson : "Couldnt you smell them burning Grampy?"
Me: "No, could you?"
Grandson: "Yes"
Me: "Why didn't you tell me?"
Grandson: "You were on the phone, Grampy".

Just left Bro in laws and as I got to the end of his estate I saw about 30-40 school kids being escorted by teachers. They were about 4-6 age. Got to the junction and there’s about another 60 going around the corner and they all had a letter in their hand.
They were all queuing to post their letters. Some were dead excited, others looking tearful at posting it. Lord knows who the letters are for but the postman will have a bad back carrying that lot.
Oh it made me smile.

One of my daughters is going to her graduation today.
Extremely proud of her and her accomplishments and know first hand the struggles she has gone through to get where she is.
All the family round ours at the moment and listening to the girls getting ready has taken me back to when they were teenagers all arguing and swapping clothes and do I look alright.
It’s a moment I’ll never get back but a glimpse into a past I’ll never forget.

I’ve entered this world as well it crept up on me but I like it! I will resist Skechers though for at least another decade 🤣
I won't wear M&S but I've been wearing Skechers for years already. Weirdly I'm actually going off them a bit, I'm not sure they're as comfortable long-term as I first thought. Probably won't get anymore for a while.
