Things That Gladden The Heart

With commentators getting a bit of stick on here, thought I would praise the team doing the Women’s Rugby World Cup. They have obviously taken note that there will be a lot of new viewers and are doing a great job of explaining the rules and why decisions are being made. Sky football could take note.

I have a lad who works for me from Albania. He said to me yesterday that someone had paid him in Scottish money and was it ok in England.
I explained it was fine but you only get 50% of what the note says in England due to the exchange rate.
He was gutted all night and this morning has messaged me to say if he books a week away in Scotland in October can he have it off as he can then get full value for his money. 😂😂

Joking apart, well played by the way, a lot of places in England won't take Scottish notes. There are many shops near me that actually have signs up stating that, not that far from Scotland, but others will just refuse.

If he can bank them, change them at a post office etc that will be better for him.

I have told him this morning just in case he does book a holiday.
He saw the funny side and has said he will change at the bank except for a Fiver he wants us to sign for him.

My grandson, temporarily staying with us (and Mum and Dad) needed keeper's gloves for football and a gumshield for rugby. He and I went off together to Sports Direct and I bought both.
On the return journey I detoured to the club to show him the course from the clubhouse and "while I'm here" had a pint and a drink and snack for him.
When we got home my wife said "I've rung you three times, where've you been"? ( my phone was on silent from golf yesterday)
Before I could answer he blabbed "We went to the golf club for a quick drink".

Chicken Tikka Masala, Hobbit’s version from scratch. The experiment continues. Been cooking different curries since lockdown, when I really got into being adventurous.

Always enjoyed throwing together a basic curry but have taken it to a different level in recent years. Lots of different spices & peppers. Rices made with added ingredients too.

From only visiting the kitchen a few times a month I now cook almost every meal, and none of them are basic…
