Things That Gladden The Heart

I won't wear M&S but I've been wearing Skechers for years already. Weirdly I'm actually going off them a bit, I'm not sure they're as comfortable long-term as I first thought. Probably won't get anymore for a while.
You’ve done it the wrong way round 🤣
M&S clothing is actually really good quality I only have a few bits though. I’m a massive fan of Uniqlo simple , well put together and good fit for good prices.

Skechers though just remind me of shoes that are comfy on first fit then just lose shape along with dignity 😉🤣

I've lied actually, I think I own a suit that's M&S, I just rarely ever wear suits so I forgot. Last wore it two years ago on my little one's Christening. Yes I have a few Uniqlo items, they're very good.

Yeah, the Skechers I've had for a while seem to have loosened up now and my feet shift around in them.

I sound like a rep but get yourself down there, you're 30s aren't you? I'm 30+12 and love the stuff.

Just, barely. 😄

I don't actually have much cause to wear M&S stuff. I wear sports or golf brands for golf, and if I need shirts/trousers for work, quite often I just grab something from TK Maxx. As mentioned, I have the suit from them, that's more what I see them for really - smart clothing, which I don't need much of.

I’m 30 + 15 and I’m liking it more and more. Saying that Mrs M is 30 +1 and has loads of gear from there 🤣

Sheep 🐑 🤣

You couldn’t pay me to shop in that jumble sale. Winds me up all the crap just thrown together and a lot of it is still massively overpriced much better quality and value in M&S 😉

Second time I've seen your Mrs' age now, we get it, you've still got it at your age 🤣🤣🤣

I buy more stuff in TK Maxx than anywhere else. If you have a tiny of bit of patience to look through you can easily find some great stuff. Just last week I got a warm, fully waterproof Regatta coat for only 50 quid in there. Sorted for winter. Have found a couple of nice golf polos in there over the years as well - Peter Millar and Ralph Lauren RLX for example, 25 or 30 quid each. I get jeans from there too, they always have plenty of decent pairs.

That’s why you couldn’t pay me to shop there I don’t want to have to rifle through rails of crap to find one thing. Brands like Peter Millar and RLX do nothing for me, plain clothing where you’re literally paying for the name which I can get of equal of better quality in high street stores for a better price.

Each to their own and fair play if you have the patience to find a bargain

And also an irritation.

I lost my mobile phone back in May. The day it went missing I’d been given a lift by a friend to a local bowls club. Whilst at the club it was in a sports bag, and then back in the car for the journey back. I searched my friend’s car and asked at the bowls club - no joy.

Last night, 4 months later, I got a call from said friend who’d been valeting his car prior to selling it. He’d found it wedged between the seat and the centre console.

Lots of apps I’ve downloaded in the last 3 years + lots of phone numbers I’d lost.

The irritation… I’d replaced the phone in June.

I was at my seniors fitness training today. My knee has been sore for a few months. Went to the doctor's, had anti inflammatory pills, physio etc. it's still stayed sore. Whilst doing the training I looked again. I had noticed my right kneecap was sticking out more than my left, so hit it with the palm of my hand on the side and it popped back into place. Result!

There's a brilliant Ytube vid comparing Men and Women football.
Men: any classic interaction where a footballer does a triple roll, in agony, after minor contact.
Women: player gets tackled, rolls over with dislocated knee, looks at it, fists it hard back into place, gets up and gets back in the game.
👍

M&S can do no wrong in this house. The food is excellent and the clothes are now more suitable for a man my age rather than my dad.
I've never forgotten the dismay of seeing an elderly, obese, stooping man and sighing "Oh gawd!"
My wife said "What's the matter?"
I said "He's wearing that bloody jumper you talked me into buying last week!"
I never wore it.

I've seen that video. That's the very image that inspired me to give it a go.
They also make them tough in Rugby League.

Ordered a record from Mexico. Decent price but took 8 weeks to arrive. A bit cheaper than the onky other two available so I had some reservations but took the chance.
Absolutely pristine. Cover looks like it’s been stored in plastic, separately to other records not a bit of wear or split on it. 30 years old and like new.

Only downside is that my plan to downsize my collection by selling loads has somehow resulted in me buying more than I sell 🤦‍♂️.

A great four days bowling. Lost out in the semi final. Probably my best bowling ever this morning against the Spanish team manager. Then not quite so good against the guy that beat me to the Spanish Championship final - I got a lot closer today - losing the semi final.

Just before we left, after the final, an ‘invite’ to move clubs. No thanks, happy where I am. Followed by, “have you considered coming along to the Spanish squad sessions.” Well chuffed with the compliment, and confused about whether or not I should have a punt. A bit stunned really…
