Things That Gladden The Heart

The mind boggles as to what that insurance covered!
  • Insured facilities: Allianz insured the prisoners' barracks, vehicle fleets, material stores, and SS armaments factories in concentration camps like Auschwitz, Buchenwald, and Dachau.

  • Insured personnel: Allianz insured the staff at SS production facilities in concentration camps.

  • Aryanization: Allianz took over Jewish insurance houses as part of the Aryanization initiative, which seized Jewish businesses to put in non-Jewish hands.

  • Profited from deportations: Allianz profited directly from deportations.

  • Inspected concentration camps: Allianz employees regularly inspected concentration camps.

Here’s a random one.
I’m working in a factory in Whitby and they had Guns and Roses Sweet Child Of Mine blasting out on the radio. A couple of seagulls flew overhead and it sounded like they were singing along to the guitar solo.
Guess you had to be there 🤣
Did you not get a recording on your phone 😂😂

One of my crane drivers had a rubber sea gull on a fishing line.
he used to fly it over the heads of visitors to the plant .
It was funny

Well…that’s that…my MiL went flying with the angels early this morning🙏

Sad times, but the last few days have been very difficult and my wife has been with her all week. We are so grateful that she made Christmas as she’d hoped and told us…and we had a lovely Christmas lunch with her in the home - at a communal table in the Care Home dining room with 12 other residents. We had a lovely day with her, and she with us, the other residents and the care home staff.

That makes a lovely memory for my wife to hold on to after such a difficult time - her brother having passed away just 3 months ago and three really tough years of supporting them both.

Life eh…though my MiL…Kay…was ready to go…life is precious and to be cherished.

Sorry for your loss and lovely to hear how you and your wife spent those precious hours together over Christmas.
I always say, "Cherish the memories, no one can take them away".

Don't mourn her death, Hugh, celebrate her life. (y)
