I had mine done in 2002, I can still see for miles but over the last 18 months it's been more and more apparent that reading glasses are now required 🤓

Was always told that when I got to 40 I'd need something so not all that surprised.
The optician did say that it will get better over the next 10 years and I'll need glasses for close up rather than long and there's no point having them lasered again.

This puts me off getting them. I've worn glasses since I was 21 so 16 years . I don't fancy getting it done for it go again in the future

That’s just the gamble you take, nature will eventually take its course but having 20 odd years of a glasses free lifestyle was well worth it for me. Sticking them on for the odd occasion I need to read some small writing isn’t really a big deal.

I opted for RLE rather than getting mine lasered after being told lasering would only work for about 10 years or so. With RLE they replace your lens with a plastic one (same as they do for cataracts), so it lasts a lifetime. It was a bit more expensive, but well worth it imo.

Have to admit Im so used to glasses now I don't mind wearing them, I don't find them a pain and I pay into a health plan to covers mine and my wife's glasses so every 2 years we swap and get new ones.

They don't cover laser lol 😭

The first time me and the wife went away I remember thinking these Scots don't care about the school fines do they, we're surrounded by them.

Our council wrote to us, we never have been fined as wife works in school so we don't take kids out, anyways new standard is so strict. Instant and if you keep doing it in a 3 year period 3 times your in front of a judge

Getting out of bed the first morning after having it done and seeing perfectly was amazing.

Bear in mind many of the ads are by PACs and not the parties directly. Lincoln Project, Anti Psycho-PAC are very prominent in the scathing ads department.

But they always finish with "I am Donald Trump/Kemala Harris/some other mentally instable person running for President and I approve this message" - it is a legally binding requirement.

Was in Teguise last week, our first visit there. We were in a 5 star AI, so didn’t eat out, but got out and about a bit, walking during the day, and up to the square where most of the bars are at night time. It had a nice feel to it, not tacky like PDC can be.
And it’s the nearest resort to a golf course. 😀 We did like Costa teguise for exactly the reasons you mentioned. A good walk everyday along the promenade 👍

You can use this handy tool to decide when to go...
Missis T was out with her pals on Friday night having a curry at her mates house. There was about 6 of them. One of the women has a part time job at Sherwood Forest Centre Parcs as a cleaner. She loves it. There is about 300 cleaners on the books. 😳
Oh ah, my brother got the contract to build the tree houses at Sherwood Forest. Apparently they look fantastic. He barely broke even on the job. Centre Parcs asked him to build the tree houses on a site down south but he had to cut costs by 15%.he told them to shove it..

Got fed up with my glasses steaming up or getting wet in the rain when playing golf, so back 40yrs ago I started with contact lenses - and have ever since. These days I tend to wear distance vision lens both eyes, but occasionally mixed close and distance. And sometimes I’ll not bother and just wear my varifocal glasses.

Still wearing contacts most days and always when I play. Too used to wearing them now, and possibly too old, to bother about getting a more intrusive vision solution done.

In England only.
Scots families get great holiday deals for the two weeks before the English schools break up :D
It works both ways, if you are close enough. I remember going to Blair Drummond one time with my kids just before they were due back at school. Obviously, the Scottish schools were already back so we pretty much had the park to ourselves 😄 . We sometimes fly from Edinburgh airport for the same reasons. Let's hope they never decide to align 😄

They always look nice but for the same (or even a bit more) money I'd prefer to go abroad.
