First time using a dubplate cutting service for transferring old, rare tracks that were only ever released on CD on to nice 10" clear pressings.

Will order one with two of my favourite tracks to see what quality is like but if it's decent then they can just take my money :D

You're having CDs transferred to vinyl?
Is there any rational reason why, other than perhaps you enjoy the ritual of playing vinyl?

I don't have CD decks. And so these tracks I have never been able to incorporate in to my sets, other than ripping them and running them through the digital controller. But I prefer using the 1210s over the controller.

It's not whole CDs I am transferring, just individual tracks that were never released on vinyl back in the day.

Oh I see, are you a DJ? I presume you're talking about Technics 1210 decks?

After I finished transferring my rare vinyl to digital, sold the LP12/Ittok/Karma. But have to admit there was something satisfying about handling LPs. I think the effort involved encouraged you to listen more attentively.

Not sure I’d go as far as to say DJ, those days are long gone (mid to late 90s) but I still have my Technics and still like to mix some sets.

Got back in to it a couple of years back when I renovated the spare room to make more space and built space in for the decks.

Personally, and I realise it’s subjective, but I think vinyl gives a more authentic sound. Digital just sounds too clean and sterile. Lossy formats are even worse.

Sadly I think the right hand deck is on its last legs after 30 years of heavy use and it’s already like Trigger’s Broom. It’s only the chassis that’s original.

Watching the amount of live American sports that I do, I see all their adverts (Progressive and State Farm are first against the wall when the revolution comes). Each party makes adverts slagging off the other on American TV whether it be for presidential election or state governor. But the ones during Monday Night Football, wow did they go up a level (or perhaps down a level) in their venom. We have nothing like that over here and perhaps just as well.

Bear in mind many of the ads are by PACs and not the parties directly. Lincoln Project, Anti Psycho-PAC are very prominent in the scathing ads department.

Playa blanca or Costa Teguise are more laid back than playa carmen
Was in Teguise last week, our first visit there. We were in a 5 star AI, so didn’t eat out, but got out and about a bit, walking during the day, and up to the square where most of the bars are at night time. It had a nice feel to it, not tacky like PDC can be.

Good for jobs, good for people on the east side of Scotland who now no longer have to travel to Penrith. It's a good news story.

97% occupancy rates at Centre Parc sites, they must be doing something right.

In a similar vain right near me they are putting in plans for a new service station. The amount of jobs it will create for the local area is off the charts

Had my eyes lasered 16 year ago, father time has caught up with me and I've had to wear glasses again.
Reminded me of when I first had them and my mom convinced me to get the thick black rimmed ones (free on the NHS), the selling point being I'd look like Chris Evans.

Imagine a fat brown kid who looked like Chris Evans. Stitched me right up.

I had mine done in 2002, I can still see for miles but over the last 18 months it's been more and more apparent that reading glasses are now required 🤓

This puts me off getting them. I've worn glasses since I was 21 so 16 years . I don't fancy getting it done for it go again in the future
