We popped down to Maidens to join the throng enjoying the spectacle.
My wife had never seen the Lights before and it was a lifetime wish. Massive moment for her
We watched 11pm to 1 am without a break in the light show. For about 15 mins it was a full 360 degrees.
Looking South West over the Firth of Clyde instead of North was a bit of a novelty for us Scots.

How come? Have I missed something?

How come? Have I missed something else?

Just finally gave into the fact that I didn't enjoy playing anymore. For a few years I kept plugging away as I'd invested so much in the game and people always said "you can't stop playing, you're too good" (not that I was, but it's all relative I suppose). Tennis is the new golf BUT a few of my tennis buddies keep saying we should play golf so...

Whichever way you decide to go, I wish you well. (y)

Two teenagers playing weekend football, and I was a coach to the eldest one's team. I also fell a bit out of love and didn't miss it. After yesterday I got some interest back, so hopefully play a bit more!
Don’t be surprised if your next round has Four blobs
And no birdies 😖

because they know most people will not have kept the receipt or cannot be bothered to go through the hassle to get them replaced (think postage costs to return).

My bathroom fan went, got it installed when the loft was done (less than 5 years ago at the time) I went on their site and saw oh they have 5 year warranty.. contacted them and didn't need to prove anything just serial number of the fan and new one was sent

Saved me buying one

An early call, but one step closer.

Managing to get a Season Pass to the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall...which should guarantee access to the Last Night of the Proms. Proper bucket list item, and a birthday present for my old pops as it is something he has always wanted to do.

Fingers crossed!

I am sort of feeling the same way. I fell out of love with many aspects of golf and so quit 2 years ago. Just starting to get a slight urge to get the clubs out again. I think part of it is if the domestic situation does not go the way i would like (still up in the air) then I need an outlet for socialising that does not involve walking to the pub.

Finally picked up my new (to me) car this morning. Just goes to show, if you work hard and are dedicated, you can achieve anything.

And if I was either of those things I'd have a better car.

But do you need a better car?

Most cars get you from A to B safely and in the dry.

"Better" cars just do it with more gizmos and might earn some admiring glances in the car park, if that's your thing.

(In case you can't tell, I drive an ordinary car)

All depends on how many miles you do, how much time you will spend in your car. If you only do local miles, a basic car is all you need. If you are doing distances then a bit of extra comfort is very nice to have. Not essential, but nice.

After all the worries that we had for our lad through pandemic and lockdowns - whether or not live event stuff would pick up soon enough and sufficient for him to rebuild his career - he’s worked incredibly hard to work his way back up the venue ladder…with the bigger the venues; the bigger the act - and consequently the bigger the pay day for him. And yesterday he told us that he’s got a gig working as VIP Manager and Ass Promotors Rep on a part of the Girls Aloud tour next month.

He’s only doing two weeks of the tour and as Assistant to Promotor Rep he isn’t getting the full rate - but this will be his first time working in 10,000+ cap arenas, and with that experience under his belt he’s well on track for the big stuff.

So pleased for him - proving wrong those who tell us that his job doesn’t sound like a real job. Well…he gets paid a lot of real money for it.

ETA…And on the same day our daughter got through her rubber stamping as a fully accredited and certified Financial Planner. Good lass. She worked incredibly hard on the exams and getting certification.

What a great double for us.
