Things That Gladden The Heart

Finally had my consultation for my tooth removal

Means had to use the train

Finally got to use the Elizabeth line, what a fantastic piece of engineering

Also got to hear our rail screech on the Barnet branch .. Jezz how are our drivers not deaf

Having rather flung my hi-fi back together after it’s 9month sojourn in the loft while building work was done, I pulled the connections apart yesterday evening and took a load of time ensure black2black, red2red and working out the speaker wiring as the plugs into my receiver are 2 pin DIN type, and so checking pin-positive to Red.

And as I picked up a few albums in the sojourn I’m listening to one of them at the moment (with RC on TV silent) as I do ironing …no prizes for guessing the Moodies albums currently spinning - wow! That’s better. 50yrs on and the album is tops also - isn’t life strange 👍😘

Just spent a week in the south of France, in and around Carcassonne. A bit touristy... but the coffee.. out of this world even the stuff out of a machine.

Care home in town close to MiLs home and village can transfer her from hospital on Monday. All being well that sees drawing to end end nine very difficult months that had seen my wife away from home most of the time - and with all love and concern for my MiL we can start sorting ourselves out. With my BiLs cancers and MiLs falls and frailties we have put our own lives on hold for nearly three years.

I feel your pain Hugh. When the father-in-law was failing, Mrs H spent 4 weekends at home in 13 months. As I worked from home we ended up moving from Manchester to Middlesbrough.

One of the many posts that popped up in my FB feed recently was Dull Men's Club. I had a chuckle, obviously looked for longer than 3 seconds, and then more came through over the days. I've now subscribed and advise anyone over the age of 50 to do so. You can look if you are below 50 but somehow I think what is posted will resonate more with age. It's comedy gold, pure Peter Kay. If you want cheering up, check it out. (oh, and not a nasty word to be seen ;))

I'm in that group as well. 😆 I joined it a couple of months ago, it became semi-viral when a guy was posting that he found a padlock in the street and he was trying every combination to try and unlock it. People were having guesses at what number it would be. My guess of 6969 proved to be inaccurate.

Truly dull men wouldn't know what Facebook is ?
