There is a chap at my club who keeps his tee pegs in one of those little plastic cannisters that hold a roll of camera film.
He marks his ball with it. As it is full of tee pegs it is heavy enough not to topple over. He's got a small marker inside, if near anyone's line.

My son will never actually know what this was.... :ROFLMAO:

Check these out! Four times as heavy as a poker chip at least. I don't know how anyone carries them in their pockets without falling over! ? Let's face it, anything bouncing off these is going miles!!!

Perhaps you could point me towards the rule then...

Its written really badly, but i think its rule 15.3c. In 15.3 a you recieve a two shot penalty if two players agree to leave a ball in place that may help one of the players. In 15.3c it states that a marker that may help or interfere applies the same penalties as 15.3a. But as i say its not exactly concrete....

I knew it was a penalty to agree to leave a ball, i.e. back stopping, its the agreement part makes it dodgy for me. Another player with the same putt would not have the advantage of the marker, so i think you get a penalty... but only because youve agreed with a player, if no one had mentioned it then its not guilty i think....

I have loads of plain plastic ones as well.
The only one I bought is the Nelson Bay. In New South Wales - had a lovely day there - had to have a souvenir.
All the others - I "found" them.
No idea what BCT is. Anyone know? It was in a recent ebay purchase with 3 BCT tee pegs.

?

I have a bag ones that size that I use

Plus another bag in the cupboard with ones I don’t

I buy one from every course I play - along with pitch repairers and course planners ?

I've got a poker chip marker with a magnetic smaller insert. If I'm anywhere near the line, I'll use the small one.

Mind you, any danger of hitting it, get it moved.

Unless you're playing with one of my mates who takes so long doing it, you don't bother!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So you are carrying 2 ball markers in your pocket - a big one and a small one. Why not just carry the small one?

I feel like I'm missing out not having a giant ball marker. The inconvenience must be offset by some benefits?

Where can I get fitted for a new marker?

its quite a long process for getting fitted for a ball marker

Takes about 3 hours and goes through every shape , size , colour and weight

Good news is if you buy a marker from they take the price of the fitting off

I’ve got a few poker chip markers in my bag from places I’ve played the last few years. All of them have a smaller magnetic insert.

If my ball is nowhere near anyone I’ll just use the chip but if it’s anywhere near anyones line then I always use the small magnetic insert and ask if they want it moved.

Honestly getting fitted for a ball marker was one of the worse descisions of my life. Someone else said it takes about 3 hours and mine only toom just over 45mins. The fitter only seemed interested in fitting me for one brand, when I enquired about other types he said they wouldnt work with my current marking process and I'd need to sign up for marking lessons to get the most out of them. Really not good all round. The one I did buy I lost within a month and reverted to an old casino chip from Vegas and I've not noticed any real rise in my scores as a result. I'm going for an off the peg marker every time now.
