and we're letting them.

We buy their crap TV
Our kids dress like them
We eat their food
We're getting as fat as them
We're copying their legal system
We even write and speak like them

Don't get me wrong....they have some great qualities
but I don't want to be one.

I can't be the only one..... or am I ?

I couldnt think of anything worse.
Even an ex misses of mine who i loved dearly at the time has moved over there.
On facebook shes unbearable at times[so over the top].
I dont ever think i will be shouting "get in the hole" from 600yrds out.

Have to admit that my grandchildren are taking on too many American traits... Mostly due to their exposure of US culture through the media... Kids TV, youtube etc... Try to correct them as much as possible but its an uphill struggle...

I drive past a McDonald's drive through on the way to the range and there's always a queue of cars no matter what time of day it is.
What are people buying at 9 am ?

I thought the same until I rememered a little boy running around shouting Yabba dabba Doo in a Davy Crockett fur hat. Mine was home made out of an old fur coat...best in the village.

Has anyone else noticed the growing trend of people replacing the letter T with a D, eg better- bedder, getting- gedding, etc etc.
Also,"can I Ged a"....... When asking for something.
Really does grind my gears!

I am guessing you have moved on from "yabba dabba doo" [well I hope you have anyway ;)] where as American 'culture' hasn't really :(... "Get in the hole", "mashed potato" etc etc :angry:...

What brought this on Bob?

Is someone named Randy dating your (Grand-?)daughter? No ketchup in the house? Try looking in the trunk of your V-hickle - which is in the garr-arrge.

I remember writing about this 20 years ago.

How many of you say

Sand trap...trap.... for bunker
Back 9 for inward half.
Collar for fringe.
etc.
Like childrens slang it is all the fault of television. [and easily influenced individuals]
