Still contemplating as make this my last season.
Played 12 holes on my local 9 holer with a 24degree rescue, my old set of irons 5-si and an old putter.
Went quite well, even got a couple of birdies. Only duffed a couple of pitches and hit one crazy 60 yard off line rescue.
I think I shall just carry on like that, a quiet 9 holes when the fancy takes me.
Only two other on the course which was in nice nick.

Had a funny one today. Hit loads of real good shots to start with and hit 8 greens going out. Then lost my timing and hit it everywhere. Then with 3 to go it returned. PUTTING STINKS BTW!

Oh putting oh putting oh putting!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Played the club match vs the ladies. What a load of crap I played. Please don't take this the wrong way but we were five up at the turn and I was crap and my 28 handicap partner was so in and out but we weren't given any sort of game. Had zero concentration, zero idea and basically just stood and swung at it. Practice ground tomorrow to try and find something before Friday

Played today in the monthly stabelford and had a fantastic start with a par on the first, bogey on the second, third and fourth. Then the wheels fell off literally! Hooked a drive into the trees, found the ball and hit it out no problem then as I walked out with my trolley in tow hit a root and broke one of the legs on it.
Lugged it round for the next 5 holes and it weighs a ton. Blobbed that hole and knocked it about for 15 points on the front nine. Removed the broken trolley and borrowed a club trolley which was as bad as carrying the damn bag as it dragged on the ground unless I crawled along the floor pulling it.
Came in with 31 points and felt the same as when I had played 54 holes on the longest day. Swing went, mind went and finally the body gave up.
First time having the 17th as a par 5 and still managed to blob it.

Did you play Maybole ?

+3 in a bogey to win Div 1 and our swindle. H'cap cut from 5.3 to 5.0... all without the aid of a 19 hour range session... just a tick tock, old man's swing..;) keeping it simple...

Wasn't looking forward to today tbh, been playing cat 3 golf recently, had an away day on Tuesday and played to handicap but it felt so fragile the whole way round.
Today, I went out with no expectations though wanted to swing easy and enjoy it, shot a 73 so a decent cut coming my way. Nice double bogey on a par 3 too but didn't let it bother me and have to be honest and say it is my first home round in months that I really enjoyed. :)

I was really looking foroward to playing today after not playing since sunday in the wind and rain in a medal q/f.

Walking to the first tee met the one of the pros on the way back and he said that some juniors had just tee'd off and give them 5 mins to get away, no problem as we were 10 mins early.

25 mins later the 3 juniors had just got out of driving range (around 330 yards....) spent another 5 mins waiting over our 2nd shots and then asked if we could play through and they let us, only for us to get held up by another group of juniors and then took us another hour to play the next 5 holes so we jumped 2 holes infront of them as the course was dead.

Kinda ruined the round stood around waiting so long at the start, played some good stuff but some shocking stuff.

Hope i don't play so bad at Rockliffe on Monday

A game of ups and downs for me... spent the first 3 holes struggling with the damp conditions and hitting the ball fat. Got it going at the 200 yard par 3 4th and walked off with par. But the whole round was plagued with some real dross and some sublime shots.

Had three 7s and an 8 on the card and finished with a 94, 23 over.

Highlight of the round was a birdie 4 on the blind par 5.

Bring on the society day mid week!

Well I turned up for the medal after 2 weeks off, purely to have a good walk and a laugh. I was 2 over after 4 and played the rest level with 3 birdies, 3 bogies and 8 pars. Pleasantly surprised , best score of the season (73, +2) and a cut at last. I took an inch off my driver on Friday night and what a difference it made. Actually hit some of my longest drives in a while and found it much easier to control. I was tied on nett 67 with a guy off 11 so hopefully my 37 back nine will win the count back

Turned up for a swindle this mornin to find there was a rearranged BetterBall comp on, joined up with one of the vets for a net 61 3 off the lead when I came home! Played some very good golf and got my name on the card 13 times - just a shame we both stupidly 3 putted the 10th (our 17th) for a bogey!

Played in medal yesterday was all over the place was 6 over after 6 and that included a birdie. Then finished the 9 with par bogey birdie. But then came home in 1 over so +7 total to buffer it so reasonable happy

Last qualifier of the year, needed to score three under handicap to get to single figures.

I scored a gross 79 net 69, three under. :D

Just got the long wait now to see if CSS stays at 72, if it goes down to 71 for the first time this year I will not be happy!

Stayed in the buffer in yesterdays Medal with a gross 94 - net 70 :(
Was going along nicely until the 9th - lay up par 4 - hit an ok'ish drive and left with an easy 8iron and had it been another foot would not of gone in the bunker, took 2 to get out and ended up with a 7.
Got it back together on the turn until the 17th. Par 3, ball landed just off green leaving a 40-50ft chip, nothing in the way and went and duffed first chip and then the 2nd as well, and 3 putted for a 6! Really annoying as my chipping and short game has been very good of late.

There are positives though, I didn't duff any drives and putting and short game was good. It's taking a long time, with only playing once a week, but I know I'll be breaking 90 sooner rather than later.
