Prompted by the 100 greatest courses. I was wondering if the forum members could build 'The greatest golf course ever'.
We have 18 holes, Par 72. The entire world's golf courses to choose from.
Let's see if we can line up those 'classic holes' and bundle them together into one dream course.
Throw your suggestions as to 'must have holes' in the thread below and let's see if we can build this thing :D :D :D

Lets start at the home of golf then. Nothing too tricky about the opening drive and about 200 yards width wise to land the ball in. It is the aura of the course that is so special though and the anticipation of following the legends as you tee the ball up and stand there hoping no-one notices the flaws in your swing and that you actually make contact with it.

1st at Macrihanish.

10th at Turnberry.

13th at Royal County Down.

Got to have the 11th and 12th at Augusta - 2 of the toughest holes anywhere.
And the 17th at St Andrews - stands to reason...

Par 3 8th from the Red course at Georges Hill...one of Harry Colts finest creations.

10th from the Brabazon at the Belfry for the drama and history it has created over the years in the Ryder cup.

Par 3 3rd from the Dukes at Woburn

Still wasn't wide enough for a former Open champion!! :D :D

The 2nd at my place. Paul McGinley reckons it is one of the finest holes he has ever seen so who am I to argue!!! 457m par 4 with a 165-180m second shot all carry!!!
