With Celtic dropping points today...Rangers 2 points clear...who do we reckon will win the league?

Also...who are your tips for relegation in the Premiership?

Sorry KeefG...are your mob already gone?

Id have much preffered Newcastle to be in your position! A mate of mine is a Boro fan and he has taken us to a few games at the Riverside....Its right cold but the games were good!! That UEFA cup run was the business!

IMO the positions will not change now. Newcastle blew their big chance yesterday and only have themselves (& ref) to blame.

I think Rangers will now win SPL if Celtic dropped points today.

Sheff Utd to Prem and Scunny to Championship

Its not mathematical, but pretty much yes!

If Man U beat Hull 3-0 and we beat Wet Spam 2-0, we stay up....but that aint gonna happen!

you also need newcastle to lose

Also need Shergar to win the 3.30 at Kempton ridden by lord Lucan :D ;)

Thats what i love about you vig.....sod all :D

I was genuinely sorry as a Fulham fan for the result yesterday. I have always enjoyed Newcastle over the years (MacDonald, Beardsley, Asprilla and of course Keegans 1-4-6 up front formations). Sadly I think they and Boro have gone. I also thought Newcastle had a perfectly good goal ruled out.

That said, they have gone down before rebuilt and returned. my only concern is whether there will be a club of any sort left once the political i fighting and financial meltdown begins.

I think Boro have lacked an out and out goalscorer that could have got some draws over the course of the season andmay have had you further up the league. Despite all the assurances about Southgates future I just think he is a little tactically one dimensional and not really got the nous for the top league and they may be better with a more gritty man at the helm. I sense another club clearing out a lot of dead wood

Yer joking arent ya!!!

We've got no dead wood left to clear out, Gareth got rid of all of our dead wood at the end of the 2007/2008 campaign!!

I think he'll keep his job to be honest, he hasnt done too badly with what he's had to work with, and if the rumours i've heard are true then he had his hand forced about which players to keep and sign or get rid of due to spiralling debts and fears over the wage budget.

We'll be back....

I wasn't aware about the wages etc so I take some of that back. He has done ok within the constraints but either way you will need a 15-20 goals per season man next year to get you anywhere near the play-offs. I just don't think you score enough and some of your defending from what I've seen on MOD etc has been dis-organised.

Like I said about that other team near you, it may actually do you good in terms of being able to rebuild and refocus. I think you and Newcastle are way too strong for the championship even now.

Maybe so, but we're gonna lose the majority of our squad close season, so we may be too strong now but come September I fear for us.

Downing, Tuncay, Arca, O'Neill, Pogatetz, Huth, Alves, Aliadiere...i fully expect none of these to be with us next season.

Downing & Tuncay we cant live without, the rest are expendable.

I have to say Arca has looked like a man who would rather be anywhere else in the last few months. Alliadiere is not premier league standard (in my opinion) and the others are reasonable players but like you say will be easy targets to buy cheaply.

Arca was our star man last season, Gareth turned him from a left winger into a top drawer centre mid but he's just been pants this season. The odd glimpse of form from last year but nothing special.

Aliadiere I have a lot of time for, if he stays (which I dont think he will) he'll do well for us next year. He's an honest pro, he works hard and he tries. I think he's works better on the right than as a forward though!

Still think Celtic will win the league, but for some reason I would love to see Hull stay in the Prem, maybe just for the start they had.... But I would love to know how much Mr Gibson has spent at Middlesborough over the years?

Nah I think Rangers will win it, I can see them getting a win at Tannadice via a dubious penalty.

If Newcastle go down it will be damn hilarious. Feel a bit sorry for Mowbray and West Brom.
