The Scottish Open

Patrick the par must be what, 69 - 70?

These men will always tear it apart with the size of those fairways eh?

Off the black its 72 Allan, at just over 7000 yards not long for these guys. I know there are a few new tee's just for the pro's that add a bit more length. They have managed to get some rough this year as there's been so much rain. They have also added some pro bunkers and by that i mean only these guys would reach them off the tee.

But like a lot of Links courses my own club included it needs wind to protect it and we havn't had anything but a slight easterly for the last 2 months apart from the odd day.

Lets hope we get a bit of wind over the weekend, but not at Royal Dornoch as i'm playing there Sunday;)

Sorry,I meant the Pro's 'mean' par.

par 72 but must be a mean par of what 69 or 70 making Frannies round more like 7 under and Hutsby more like 9 over.

Yes i get you.

One thing i did see yesterday which didn't suprise me was watching monty stuff a mar's bar down is gob in under 60 sec ;)

I'm thinking -30 could be the winning score at Castle Stuart unless they considerably toughen up the course for the weekend, its simply too easy for the elite in form players.

Crowds at Loch Lomond were average for the "Home of Golf" so they moved it elsewhere to a more traditional layout.
Crowds still average to say the least.
Maybe the current British Isles hotspot, N.Ireland, should get the plum spot the week before the Open and hopefully the Open itself in the not-too-distant future.
R&A politics will out I'm sure!!
