The Returned (Les Revenants)

aye, when the girl was getting stabbed and the wee boy stopped her from stabbing herself, freaky

Now if you haven't watched the programme that statement will seem as bizarre as it is. But not so bizarre as Victor was involved - and anything involving Victor will not be of a straightforward nature.

Always thought there was something odd with Pierre and was confirmed with that comment, a great finale for the episode.

SLH pm me your thought I'm intrigued!

Another great episode, gonna be a cult classic this show.
Christ knows what's going on now, last night I had a theory that Camille is sucking her sisters life force hence the wound on her back with the weird black stuff around it.
Totally baffled if the truth be known though :D

Last night's episode. Well...erm...

I just love this show - I wonder how many hints and clues along the way I've missed. Anyway - I'm not trying to work it out and just letting it happen. Let the story reveal itself.

I think the great thing about this sort of drama is that you could probably work out what it's about if you picked up all the clues along the way and pieced them together in the right order. But the producers of Les Revenants know that if they are clever about it then most viewers aren't going to be able to do this and will be baffled and intrigued.

And so I avoid the likes of the Digital Spy forum on the programme because you have loads of folk picking up on the clues and piecing them together - and whilst they might not get it right - I think there is a reasonable chance that they will - and that would spoil it for me - so no guessing from me here on what's going on.

I'm going to have to watch last night's episode again. None of this is real. I think it is significant that at one point we were shown a view from the Helping Hand that looked out over a huge expanse of water covering where we 'know' lies the town. It was in a dream of the guy who runs the HH.

I hope it doesn't do the whole it's just a dream thing! And Simon in the cell eerrrr! Thinking it could be the done what they came back for as camille has started too.

I don't think it is one dream - but it could be many or mass hallucinaton or hysteria. It is a 'real' situation where unreal things happen - and therefore there cannot be a logical 'real' explanation. There just can't be - as people DON'T come alive once they are dead. But as I said I'm not thinking much about the 'reveal' - it's just facinating watching weird things happen and unfold to 'ordinary' people.

I got the impression that some of the "living" characters are already dead but don't realise it, summat like that anyway.
Some quite strong messages as well, living wasted lives and all that.

As well as some (well so far at least one) who think they are dead but may not be...

And yes - there is a strong sense of 'second chance' there to be seized if it can be.

And so tonight to the final episode of the first series of Les Revenants. I'm intrigued. Because as a second series has been made they can't do a complete 'reveal' tonighht - because that would blow the principal bafflement - and so what would the second series be about? Anyway - let's see.

Well, that last episode cleared up about 5% of my questions! Just have to wait until next year!

Yup - none the wiser really. Clearly the dam broke in past but it happened again? Or have the Returned taken them all folk in the Helping Hand back in time to just after it had broken. And we jave to wait until NEXT YEAR!!! :( At a time in life when I'd rather not be wishing my life away...

Mmmm, finally caught up last night and I enjoyed the male full frontal nudity, the hot French lesbians, the young (but legal before you start) girls breasts, the zombies, the metaphor to the Nazis and the suicides. But the ending left me a bit confused, well possibly not confused but there's a lot of questions.

I'm hoping it doesn't end up being like Lost where nothing was really answered. But I will be watching the next series. For the male full frontal nudity if nothing else ;)

The male front nudity was one thing - especially as he was twice dead - but you missed out the pregnancy of the maybe undead woman (Adele) as a result of a real or unreal sexual liaison with her definately undead ex-partner (Simon). Soooo...

But I loved it - great watching and fantastic atmospheric score by Mogwai
