The reason I'm back.....

Your a lucky man.

I despise Motorcycles and the majority of people who ride them. They have no care or concern for anyone else on the road and seem to be surprised they routinely have near death experiences.

What are your thoughts on slow play while you're at it ? ;)

Seriously thought, glad you're relatively ok

I also look at kids on bikes in shorts and t shirts - isnalmost wonder why they bother with helmets when they will almost certainly die when they come off at greater than 50 with bare skin
I had my "off" aged 21 with 5 layers on my legs - doctor said that was they only thing that allowed me to walk again, as my ignition keys went into my shin and knee

Glad it isn't as serious as it could have been and hope the injuries clear up soon. I've a mate (who does a far better blog http://boxhillorbust.blogspot.co.uk/) who is obsessive and touch wood hasn't had a big spill and has been riding for years but I know his wife is now giving him some serious grief about jacking it in. I can't see it happening mind until something major (god forbid) happens.

That looks painful! Just out of interest how is the bike?

Bike wasn't too bad,it slid on its right hand side and never flipped thankfully.it did slide for a good bit though so start to wear away the starter clutch cover spilling out all the oil.the clutch cover didn't go all the way through but other than that it was purely cosmetic....exhaust,brake lever rearset etc etc.wheels and forks were still good....managed to sell bike for £1500 In the end up. So that mishap cost me £1300,family holiday and full wages for 2 weeks.......I'm an erse:mmm:

You learn from your mistakes, what peeves me off the most about it is the stretch of road it happened on I can go much faster than I was going,I usually come round the left hand bend at speeds faster than I reached that morning on the shortish straight that I got the tank slapper on....I can also usually handle the bike fine wheat gets out of shape, when the bars are shaking violently from hard accelerating and powering hard over crests on the road and jumps etc and controlling wheelies but I got caught out this morning, not concentrating fully and not even going at my usual pace.the speed was still high but not what it could of been.

The bike had not only a steering damper fitted but one from a k5 gsxr 1000 so it was much better than the std k4 one previously fitted.

That's why I took up golf old men and fast bikes are a bad combination by the the way I had a hayabusa.

Lovely bikes, great for touring.my mate has just bought one.

It's funny a lot of people don't like the, they think they are butt ugly.

Did you have the early unrestricted model?

Yes it was a unrestricted one 180 mph straight out of the crate but I put a Yoshimura Exhaust System on and had the fuel injection system remapped it went faster than the bullet train, have to say the bike handle better with the wife on the back at slower speeds

I crashed my Gixxer Thou about 12 years ago, with a lot less injuries than that. But it was enough for me to lose my confidence when I got back on after having the bike fixed. So I relunctantly got rid of it with the same thought of getting another 2-3 years later. My kids arriving put paid to that idea.

I was just saying to my wife yesterday that I have never even fancied trying a motorbike. Bloody dangerous things, even if driven well.

Glad you came out with only minor injuries but surely these pictures act as an advertisement for leaving bikes for the track.

Try one first before slating them.

You will never know the buzz!

Lots of bikes out yesterday on the lovely drive back from Machrihanish. Looked brilliant fun until just south of Inveraray there was an accident involving a car and bike. Polis and ambulance in attendance, and I bet the ambulance was for the biker.
Hope the biker's ok.
