Having said that, what's Justin Rose got on his feet?? he hasn't gone all Freddy Couples on us, has he?

I noticed that last week, thought for a moment that he'd lost his Adidas sponsorship. He's still wearing Adidas clothing and playing Taylormade but does look like he's wearing Ecco shoes though.

Watched a bit last night but by this time of the season, although it's a big comp, it does seem a bit samey samey and I couldn't get into it. Maybe it's the courses, which all seem the same, or the coverge or the golf itself which is mainly a driver/wedge/putt fest, but it reminds me why I enjoy watching the Open so much more than any other event.

Yeah I agree the open is by far the best major but it winds me up when the yanks call it the 'British' open... Lads it's 'The Open'

I wonder if Ecco have some tie in with Taylormade/Adidas who as I understand are the same company.

wish people would stop being so uptight about the name, its THE OPEN and its held in Britain so its an easy association for people who play many many many other OPENS.
Its the best in the world and they all admit it.

Agreed re the usa putt fest, show some 3 woods needing cut shots or drivers off the fairway or plugged bunker lies etc etc but no.......cut to calvin humphrey the 3rd from Illinois to see a 25 foot putt.........oooooh guess what, it goes in

I actually ended up watching it lol!

But what I usually do to combat the ads is sky+ the highlights the following morning and watch for a couple of hours in the evening this way you get the golf and far fewer ads...

I'm sure they're lovely to wear in the sunshine on perfectly manicured courses in the US, but not desperately practical for over here! That said, he wore them in the rain for his win and said he had no probs with his footing.
