Troon has been on my wish list for some time. Not played it, only ever seen it on TV. We're staying in Greenock on the Saturday night, and off to the Open on the Sunday.

I'm staying in Glasgow and am going on Wednesday and Thursday.

I'm going on the Saturday, prefer to watch things unfold at home.

Can't wait should be a great day out. Hopefully it's better weather than when I went up on the Saturday last year ...

Don't buy your tickets in advance if you're staying in Greenock*

*my home town, you might not get out alive :o

I am not going as I am off on my summer hols. Wish I was going as I have played the course a few times. Try and get a good seat at the postage stamp for a couple of hours.

My daughter has a weekly ticket which she will not be able to use on some days.
Not sure when I shall be going besides taking the grandson on Monday practice.

For those going for the first time use the train and shuttle bus to get in and out.

As a fellow native Greenockian I endorse this message - growing up in Greenock is/was great sprint training as you leg it from the chib-wielding neds - happy days.

Was meant to be going to the Tuesday practice, but moving house at the end of the month has meant that I can no longer go, shame as I have been looking forward to it for ages. Also possibly missing out on the Paul Lawrie matchplay at archerfield.

I'm there on Thursday courtesy of GM and pondering going back in on the Friday too. Probably won't if I can't find a place to stay.
