Just back from Royal St Georges. From South Croydon, it took 5 hours this morning, door to door! I left at 7 and got to the gates at 12. OK, a lorry run out of Diesel on the A2, shutting down a lane and costing about 45 minutes. The rest was down to the grid lock within Sandwich town. The park and ride cost a fiver and there were lots of buses. Great if they could go anywhere! Part of the problem are the trains which are too long for the station, which results in the level crossing being down for 7 minutes per train. Ended up walking most of the way. 2 hours on the park and ride bit stinks of a shambles!

Getting home took 2 and a half hours.

Leave early if you are going tomorrow and enjoy!

Best wishes

Matt

Perhaps I will give the park and ride a miss tomorrow then and just park as normal. Don't want to be spending 2 hours on a bus

Its a shame as for a fiver a car its good value and there are lots of buses. And it worked like a dream coming home. I do wonder though what it will be like tomorrow when larger numbers will leave at the same time.

Having said that, giving it a miss could be a wise move. Plan B needs to give the town center a wide birth, even if you are on foot.
Enjoy the day.

loads of places to park outside of the town centre, that town centre is bad even on a normal day never mind the open.

Yes - leave very early or it will be a nightmare. I left home at 4.45am, arrived at 6am and sailed in with no problem.

My mate from my squash club left our village at 7am and didn't get in until 1230. He had a rubbish day.
