Laura Davies just said Scheffler certainly deserves all the luck, after he avoided the thick rough on 1st drive.

I then wondered what the logic of this statement was? Does she mean the best golfer in the world ALSO deserves all the good luck as well?

I think it was more likely she was just saying whatever random statement came to mind, rather than just stay quiet for a bit

Well, that’s my enjoyment of Sunday at The Open spoiled, right there.

Rich Beem summed it up perfectly. Scheffler is suffocating the field. And great as it is for his followers, to those who want a competitive final round it’s just dull.
