I am intrested in purchasing a driver although i say i never would anymore... i quite like the look of the Cleveland Launcher anyone hit one or know of hows these babys play?

Considering the VS Proto By You shaft also!

I found the proto shaft very light, and it came out quite stiff, but in a Titleist bore thru' driver.
I have tried it in a non bore thru', and it did feel different, so I guess you just have to try it yourself.

Yeh suppose the launcher is on offer from Onlinegolf with a free 3 wood... however it comes with the Fujikura Red or Golf... and after hitting the Callaway FT-5 with a Fujikura i have always said i won't use a Fujikura anymore really didnt like it... yet hit a friends FT-5 With a different shaft completely different! So i put it down to the shaft!

I tried it on the range about a month or so ago and I have to say it was a dream to hit. I didn't buy it because of the price but in every respect I enjoyed swinging it.

The feel is superb, with a lovely sound on impact. For me, it provided excellent distance and trajectory (I was using the 10.5deg, and was easily the most consistant driver I tried out.

Other clubs I compared it to were the old Ping G5, ping g10, wilson spine staff, and an MD golf square headed driver, of which the name escapes me. I opted eventualy for the Wilson, as it came in a good £70 cheaper than the Cleveland. The Wilson makes a slightly less satisfying noise but gives excellent distance and I have been very pleased by it. If money was no issue then I'd have to say I'd have bought the Launcher.

happy shopping!

Thanks Dave... however money is an issue as i am a poor student and seem to split what cash i have by 90%-10% in favour of drinking and nights out!

But i always get an idea set in my head and then if i buy something else always end up changing!

Im guna have to save my pennies!

I may be trying one of these tonight. I was looking at the 3w and the deal is making me think about picking one up. Just need to find somewhere local who's running the deal.

I had the Hi-Bore XLS (basically last years model) but in a draw bias which once I got my swing sorted was causing more harm than good. I still have the 3 and 5 woods. The Hi-Bore was an efficient and workman like club, strictly middle of the orad and did the job well. I've hit this years model in a net on a monitor and again it is a functional if unspectacular driver although I did think the regular was actually a bit whippy (swing speed 92mph although I play regular in everything).

Aye, but the Launcher and Hi-bore are completely different clubs!

FWIW, i've hit the Launcher driver and 3 woood and if i had the money for the driver, then both would be in my bag (buy one get the 3 wood free offer) as they were amongst the most solid and consistent clubs i've hit in the category.

As it is, i'm going to hold off a couple of months and hopefully see the cost of the 3 woods drop a bit before taking the plunge.

If you can, take the chance to try out the different lofts and shafts as it all really does make a difference. Even the 3 wood comes in different lofts, so make sure you try them out.

Just had a look at the deal offering a free fairway wood with Cleveland drivers. Maybe I am a bit skeptical but I am sure that the drivers were being sold for just over £100 before this offer but have gone up in price to near the RRP since the offer came into effect. Still represents a saving overall but stinks a bit of sharp practices.

I agree that it is still a good deal just felt it a little off that the online retailers were selling the driver for £119-£129 earlier in the year but have upped that to £165-£175 now the free fairway wood offer has come in.
