The Missing

The Fall returns this week. The first series was excellent and really looking forwards to it.

Plus it's got Gillian Anderson in it who was born the day after me fact fans. Oh how our lives have followed a very similar path, one was, and to some extent still is, globally lusted after, and is a very respected person in their profession who combines devastating good looks with extreme competence. And the other was in the The X Files.

Anyone see the new BBC1 drama The Missing on Tuesday night featuring James Nesbitt ?? It was part 1 of 8 and has all the makings of being damn good in my opinion. Having rugrats myself it's was a pretty hard watch at times but Nesbitt was excellent . Looking forward to next week now.
...Got there in the end..Great ending to compelling series.

I was a bit disppointed with the ending tbh. Although I don't know how they could have made it much difference without it being pretty distressing

Same here, I said to the missus weeks ago...I hope it isn't yet another one of those shows with the cop out endings where the death is a tragic accident...
And it was!
At least we get another series by the looks of it.
Still a great program despite the ending,

I thought the ending was the worst thing about the whole series, which dragged on for at least 5 too many episodes.

Can't remember when I was last so disappointed with a drama, the first episode held such promise as well but then it was one long drag, I'll certainly not be watching any follow up.

But it didn't end in a tragic accident, did it? The boy was killed by the two Romanians because he had seen their face.

I thought we were a little short changed, with 8 weeks of edge of the seat drama and then an almighty fast forward to Russia with no explanation of how and why he's there. My perception of the ending is that the scriptwriters have given us a choice in that he's dead, the romanians killed him but Nesbitt just won't close it as there's no body and ultimately goes mad or that he "never ever gives up" and ultimately finds him in Russia only for it all to be taken away from him at the last minute when he gets nicked.

I think the final episode was more to do with how two people eventually learned to cope with the loss. One was willing to accept that the boy had died and one wasn't simpels.

i think the Russian link was just to show how far he was willing to go in his search.
