Just lately when I have been out playing after a few holes I find myself getting bored and fed up and questioning why I'm out playing. It happen regardless of who I'm playing with or how I'm playing. Anyone else suffered from this or any advice on how to over come it. Cheers

Err, no, never.

Sounds like you need to start playing more interesting courses. Or you're not taking time to stop and smell the flowers. You're out on the golf course, man. How can you not appreciate something about that?

Personally I never get bored out on the course, even the most plain one.

Do a sponsored golf break for charity.

You'll be gagging to get back on the grubbiest goattrack within days.

Are you getting bored no matter what or is the issue that you find the course / game too easy or hard?

If you are really not enjoying the game at all then perhaps it's not for you.

If it's too easy - first, I'd say lucky you. Second, make it harder. Set yourself challenge targets to hit on the course and penalise yourself when you miss. So, from 100 yards in you have to hit the green. If you miss you pick up your ball and drop it in a bunker.

If it's too hard. Why? Are you inconsistent? Maybe get some lessons.

Don't play golf would be my advice. No point doing something that bores you.

Cheers for the advice guys. Dont think I will give up because I like the game. Think it just might be a case of having to play thru it. My game has been pretty steady of late shooting mid 80s, which I'm well happy with. Its just that something clicks after a few holes and maked me wonder why I'm on the course. We played a bowmaker comp yesterday which was good fun. Out of the 3 in the team we all played well below our Sunday best but had a good time.

I usually masturbate when I get bored. Ask your opponents if they are OK with it and as long as they are modern thinkers they will be fine as long as you don't draw attention to yourself at the end. It's difficult to get bored whilst knocking one out as my Mother always said.
