Bill Elliott will be typing away on the media center at Augusta right now and filing copy back to the UK overnight for our Masters report which has to go to the printers tomoorow lunchtime.
I'd really like to print a few views from the forum aloingside Bill's piece. So, how was the 2010 Masters Tournament for you? Highlights, views on Tiger, verdict on the Brits/Europeans
over to you...

Very happy for Phil and his family. Golfing masterclass down the stretch. Westwood shows he has it but fails to get the job done. Harrington mcilroy Wilson fisher, very unlucky not to be playing great oh and g mac. Tiger back with a bang and even though he wasn't outstanding still finished top 5. When he's on his a game no one will stop him. Not unless Westwood grows a pair!

I feel for Westwood, but he unfortunately he came up a against Mickleson at his best. Lee tried to play it a little safe for me, while Phil took some risks and got his rewards.

A great Masters and a worthy winner.

Amazing four days of staying up late with the dog, John Walker and the Masters. I am a huge Mickelson fan. He acts like an all round nice guy who you could easily play a round with. Just hope Westwood wins a major sooner rather than later.

When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less

Phil Mickelson has claimed a third Masters Green Jacket. There was a time I would have applauded him, as he has always been one of my favourite players. This year I congratulate him on his win but, to me, he will never be the same “Lefty”. The USGA PGA Tour and the R&A all agreed that the square grooved Ping Eye Two should be banned and, but for some sort of court ruling, they would have been banned. To use this club in a compition is below contempt. It is sad that with all the talent that Mickleson has, and he proved that without doubt at Augusta, his sense of fair play is so lacking. If not for Ping intervening, I bet he would have used the offending wedge at the Masters.

Yep, some numpty has got to say that Lee is a bottler; wouldn't mind being a shot or 2 behind his talent. Not quite there, but a huge achievement nonetheless.

The other Brits unlucky not to be playing great? So what is your verdict on Poulter then?
We can only aspire to grow a pair as big as you. Keep up the positivity.

Awesome display by Phil, especially with that bad break on the 2nd green with that 'greenage' jumping in front of his putt. Great spectacle - best man won

Nope.

He used it to highlight the idiocy of the USGA. Without his action it would still be a legal club.

The best Masters for years.

Tiger showed yet again how great a golfer he is. And he showed signs of trying to keep the negative side of his personality under control. If he can, it will remove any doubts about his greatness.

Westwood is a fantastic golfer. He hit more greens and fairways than Mickleson, but used 121 putts against Phil's 116. The implication is that he lost it on the green.

But I think Mickleson won it in his mind. His drives averaged 297 yards to Lee's 292 yards. He went for shots that were hit or bust. He hit when it mattered. The fact that he has an infallible putting stroke was just the icing on the cake.

But more importantly, his tears showed what it meant to him.

Winning the Masters - $1,350,000

Having a loving wife and family - priceless.

Congrats to Phil Mickleson. The best man won.

TBH the Standard of the Golf on Display was nothing but Highly Exceptional and fair play to Phil he's been there before and knows the score where as Lee has always been in Contention yet the pressure out there is something many of us shall never really experience for anyone to belittle a man who's finished Higher than any other British Golfer since Faldo last won is good going imo and nothing more than Jealous for the simple fact soons as you've made people have a knack of knocking you down

And lets be honest who would ever have though Mr Woods would have finished on that score after starting the opening holes ..

Because I seriously never expected it

An excellent four days of golf. The whole event was exciting. No-one ran away with it. Tiger was back, but that didn't detract from what has to be one of the best Masters in many a year. The final two hours on Sunday were just magical. That's what you want in a true Major Championship.

Well done Phil :D

It has been thoroughly entertaining, some exemplary golf played. Disappointed with most of the European contingent, but happy for for Lee and Poults. Tiger, never been a fan, but he certainly came across a little better, made an effort to be more civil at times. Michelson did fantastic to win it, his play on Saturday and Sunday was superb. For me though, the most entertaining player out there was Ken Brown, loved his "Ken on the course" segments :).

Firstly - this has nothing to do with the Masters
Secondly - The club was legal to use in competition so he every right to use it. Last time I looked in the dictionary legal meant within the rules. He wasn't the only one to do it, he wasn't the first. And as has been said, he was highlighting a loophole.

Back to business......

I thought it interesting that Tiger's best shots came when he wasn't trying to hit the cover off the ball. Every time he "went for it" he messed up but every smooth tempo'd swing produced results. And to play as badly as he did for 3 days and still come in 4th is no mean feat.
Phil's a deserved winner. He used his experience to beat Lee, who never really got going. If Lee had produced a similar display to the first 3 days then I have no doubt he would have held off Phil's charge
Disappointed with Poulter's weekend - great first 2 days, pretty mediocre last 2.
Great to see Freddie there or thereabouts again - shame about 12.
No particular reason but I'm glad Kim didn't win it. There's something about him that grates on me and I was pleading with the Gods to make him falter over the last few holes - pheww...

I disagree. Westwood realises that his short game probably isn't good enough and so plays to his strengths and leaves himself in position to hit greens and not put too much pressure on the chipping. I did think his putter was cold halfway round and then he made to great clutch putts. I just think Mickleson was inspired and sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say the better man one.

In terms of viewing it was the most exciting four days at Augusta I can remember in a long time. I think the course was just about perfect and fair in terms of risk/reward. Roll on next year

Possibly the best competitively in some time, with more than a few challenging on the last day.
Mickelson played aggressively and rode his luck at times but a worthy winner. Westwood deserved the solo second place but I think his major will come (and it will) on a course and in conditions where you just have to grind out a result.
Poulter had a bad day on the Saturday and probably tried a bit too hard to force it on the final day; his day will come.
Tiger played much better overall than I expected. His game on the Sunday was more the way I thought he would start, confusing; at times downright awful, at others pure quality.

Fantastic final round. Brilliant golf from Woods, Westwood, KJ and particularly Anthony Kim but in my heart of hearts I knew Mickelson would win. He was in good position at the start, has the experience to put together a flawless round which is exactly what he went about doing. The second shot on 13 was one of the best I've ever seen and shows the confidence these guys have in their own ability. Just a pity he didn't make the putt.

Winner: deserved, he's always there or there abouts and I enjoy watching his agressive play.

Augusta: Looked good again but I don't like the 11th hole anymore. It's too long & players rarely attack the pin anymore. I liked it when they hit mid-irons to the left hand side, drawing it araound the pond. Instead they just try to get a lucky bounce from the fiarway down the right.

Brits: Westy & Poults did very well but the rest were a bit disappointing.

Tiger: Showed how good he can be by doing so well despite playing so many poor shots.

All in all one of the best Masters I've seen.
