As long as you dont need to listen to that fanny roe and the other tit oosthuisen(sp)

i agree i go and make a cup of tea when they are in the studio, but on the other hand the bbc have gary lineker presenting,he should stick to match of the day,but i think ken brown is a legend

Sky coverage looks great. Four normal days with host broadcastewrs starting earlier. Par 3 competition live and apparently four channels on the Red button, although i doubt this will be HD, two covering Amen corner and another set of holes i forget which and two covering selected groups no doubt Tiger being one of them.

Got to be honest not a fan of BBC golf. In particular last years Open. I remember watching one morning when they spent most of the time interviewing people, not the competing players i add, whilst players were in fact on course. There is a little too much studio chat on Sky but then alot of this happens when they are waiting for host broadcasters to swap over.

i think i,ll be sticking with sky, apparently its also in 3d for all those lucky enough to own it,pleased to hear the par 3 comp is live as this is a brilliant little starter to the main course

Gary Lineker will ensure BBC do not get my viewing power.

Absolute tit of the highest order who should stick to footie. He's mince at the golf, infact he's not even that good! Cant stand him. A$$h0le!

He is not as bad as listening to roe um and eh his way through a simple question, linekar is another tit that loves himself though

Out of all of them you pick them two?!?!

Critchley and Hawksworth, come on.

Critchley can't go the sentences without getting things wrong whilst talking complete trash and Hawksworth makes me want to slit my wrists. That guy needs to smile.

Roe and Ooserhuis are pretty good compared to those two.

thought hazel irvine presented the bbc coverage from augusta last year (and the open too)...may be wrong but it was not linekar who i agree is a total tit....

now thinking back i think your correct it was hazel irvine, but i still think sky's coverage is far better than the bbc's,maybe they realised how rubbish lineker was and never asked him back, let him stick to football, who know's if he was still doing it we could have had hanson, shearer and lawrenson commenting on our great game, imagine that scenario :D

Interesting to read the comments on the various commentary teams and agree that none of them shape up that well. True of most sports now imho.

I feel very fortunate to have grown up with the following

Football - Coleman, Motty, Brian Moore, Barry Davies.
Motor Racing - Murray Walker - talked b.....x but he just loved it, what passion.
Rugby - the incomparable Bill McLaren - finest sports commentator ever.
Tennis - Dan Maskell - The voice of Wimbledon - Oh I say what a volley!
Golf - Alliss when he was in his prime. Pictures with words.
Racing - Peter O'Sullevan - Legend, period.
Snooker - "whispering" Ted Lowe - peerless - hushed tones just made for the intense claustrophobia of the Crucible.
Cricket - Richie Benaud - faultless insight into a complex game and on radio the original TMS Team headed by John Arlott.

Of today's lot I reckon only McEnroe for his knowledge and insight and Michael Holding for that marvellous voice are up with that lot.

Sky's golf coverage trumps the BBCs by a long way these days.

The only good thing the BBC have now is Ken Brown.

Either way, I'm looking forward to it. 1st Major of the year is always an exciting time.
