Sorry Phil, not going to vote for that. Agree it's a great hole but we have par 3 2nd at Ardglass and I suspect Postage Stamp 8th will win at Troon so already 2 short holes on the front 9

Just to throw a contraversial one in the mix, 7th at Broadstone This clip starts with the 7th

There's a famous par 3 at North Berwick with the green sloping away, known as Redan.
They copied it at one of the US Open courses, dried it out and made a complete mockery of it when nobody could keep it on the green.

I've played it (Redan that is). Totally over-rated.

4th Hole at Old Head, I simply can't see how there's a better 4th hole anywhere in the world. Just stunning in every way

Ah, so it is likes and not nominations ?. In that case, finally, hole 9, The Lighthouse hole, The Ailsa course, Turnberry ??. A par 3, fabulous for everything. It even has the bonus of a classy halfway house, a lighthouse in fact, after you have played it.

It has too many similarities to our 2nd hole at Ardglass. The 9th at RCD is world class.

No. 10, Alwoodley. A sweeping par 5, the template for the 13th at Augusta. When you get to the crest of the hill, looking down at the protected green, I defy anyone not to grin.

Initially it was just the Uk I had in mind just because I didn’t want it getting too broad,however 2 are already in there so I suppose it has to stay that way.
Didn’t want a world wide one because obviously it will only be a small amount of us who have played abroad

3rd @ Machrihanish is the best hole on the course. First gets all the credit cos you hit across the beach but the 3rd is a beautiful hole.
