Not played much in England unfortunately. Only course in the last 15 years is Goswick. Must get out more.

BTW, my next 2 are from Troon. 6, 7, 8 is the best run of 3 holes anywhere I have played.

Sorry Phil, not going to vote for that. Agree it's a great hole but we have par 3 2nd at Ardglass and I suspect Postage Stamp 8th will win at Troon so already 2 short holes on the front 9

On the basis that we don't have a 6th hole yet, I'm nominating the 6th at Northwood, pic from today.

Narrow drive, slight dogleg right, 2nd shot over a big dip to a slightly sloping left to right green.

Lovely hole and not crazy long, playable for everyone.

But isn't it just blown up out of proportion because it's such a novelty on a Major Championship course?

I'm assuming you are making a comment having played it a few times?
I have in varying conditions, wedge to 4 iron. The hole has everything.

Have you played it?

I have been lucky enough to play it twice and I personally think it’s a cracking little par 3. You really have to think about club selection. Get it wrong and you are screwed. That’s why it’s a great par 3.

The open doesn’t even come into my mind about it been a good hole.
