The forums best holes

11th at Hillside.

Par 5 from a raised tee into a valley, a slight draw being required for the drive, a slight fade for the approach if you take it on in two to a slightly raised green.

Just watch from 1 min 20 secs in, if you dont want 2 1/2 minutes of Jezz

Better than any hole on Formby.:)

Old Course St Andrews all day long for me.

Anyone who can stand on that tee and not have butterflies or nerves is either dead or has ice in their veins.

Its been voted though, happy days.

I agree with you but the hole is still a rubbish golf hole.

We could make all the made up course, the old course holes. ;) Myself, I think not one hole from the old course can be beaten by any other course in the UK:LOL::LOL:

Always comes to mind as a cracking 2nd hole. Tbe tide changes the view of from the tee box everytime you play it. Can be anything from mid iron to 3 wood into the green over water.

If you make par. Take it and run. Bogey no disgrace.

Is playability part of this 'course'?

I'm surprised at the calls for a Par 3 in the first two/three holes, this'll be a serious bottleneck with people bitching about pace before they've even teed off at the 1st

I've played both Ardglass and Portsalon and it is a really tough choice between those two for hole #2. Think I'll go for Ardglass as I love a good par 3.

Or on the flip side you could argue that it spreads out the field by introducing the "gap" early.

1st at the Old is truly something else due to the history, but in terms of the hole itself I'd put the opening hole on the Strand at Portstewart ahead of it - a truly magnificent hole!

So far holes are :-

1. Old Course.................Par 4
2. Ardglass.....................Par 3

3rd hole next ;)

!st at Old course wouldn't bother me. Not the slightest interest in playing there. Honestly. Also isn't the first a massively wide open fairway that you can't miss? Also also, does the first on this eclectic course have to correspond to the first on the nominated course?

Yes I think that's the idea. At least, it's what everyone else has been doing so far.
