I have already prepared myself for Wolves getting their first win of the season against us on Monday night. The headlines are already being prepared for the Tuesday morning papers. It is the sort of awful result that comes around too frequently. Bizarrely, the return fixture against Wolves is only 4 games after that, also in December! We'll probably lose that as well.

Then in January we play City, Arsenal and Spurs in the space of 4 games, and it wouldn't shock me if we picked up 10-12 points from those 3 fixtures, and lose at home to Fulham in the fixture sandwiched between.
I remember coming home from the boozer last Boxing day to await the annihilation of Wolves by Utd. A 2-0 well deserved defeat ensued.

I thought exactly the same prior to our game against them the other night. I'd not actually watched Wolves properly this season but I was shocked at how bad they actually were. They genuinely look like a League One side. Rob Edwards was the only person among the players/staff that seemed to have anything about him. Everyone else just looked like they'd given up. Based on what I saw the other night, he's got a heck of a job on his hands to even get to Derby's record low of 11 points.

And yes, you could fairly argue that the fact that we only beat them 1-0 says a lot about us as well! It was the type of game where if we'd scored early, 2, 3 or more would likely have followed. Couldn't put any chances away though and it turned into a horrible scrap-fest.
