Is to talk about it.

Seeing as most of us are trying to drop a few pounds/stone, I am proposing a little support group on the forum for those who like me want to look and feel better.

I'm 17 stone and 3 pounds as of today. I want to get down to a flat 16 stone during 2016 and maintain that.

So I've gone and bought a bike, will play more golf and cricket, plan to change the diet somewhat and drop the booze intake.

We could organise small meetings for a ride or two, swap recipes, give encouragement etc.

Who's with me?

P.S. I know I can't fix ugly so I'm working on the fat part:D

The 1st rule is STAY AWAY FROM THE PIES

It's easy (in my opinion) to lose a stone.... the 2nd stone is the one that counts.... and the 3rd.

The 1st stone can be lost with a simple diet change.

I'm in ,

I've already started inputting my food diary in My Fitness Pal site and immediately it shows I'm onto a loser, so, I need to cut out the late snacks and start to eat healthy and exercise when I'm not playing golf, I need to lose 2 stone 4 pounds.

I agree with Just One, the initial stone does fall off quite quickly as it did before, the 2nd one is the one that will hurt and will need a bigger commitment.

2 stone. Sounds like a decent challenge. I only weighed 13 and a half stone when I rocked up on these shores as a 23 year old. So I am aiming to drop half my 'Heathrow Injection' now

I will meet you Sunday and we can do a quick 50miler, that should help ya :D

Tashyboys first rule of fat club. put down that massive bag of Maltesers.

I will when it's empty.

Second rule, keep Missis T's hands out of said bag.

Good luck with it me man

I cut out the booze (well cut it down to a glass or two a week) and put ON three quarters of a stone!

But if you are a few pints at a time man, cutting out beer WILL make a difference.

I've already lost the weight I needed to shift in the New Year, thanks to a Christmas dose of norovirus / vomiting bug. Very effective!

3 cups of tea have more calories than a large glass of red wine, I know what I'll be reaching for 👍🍷

good one Robin!

Signed up yesterday, and well impressed.

Where did you get that from Robin.

A cup of tea with no sugar is 15 x3 =45
A large glass of red = 200

I take 2 sugars and won't cut that out, that makes each cup approx 35 calories, a 125ml red wine (not lge) is circa 85 calories.

The point I was attempting to make was that you could stop drinking alcohol and start drinking tea out of fashion and actually add more calories, bit like those that stop smoking but then start eating like mad and put weight on!

And so the rabbit food begins..

that aint rabbit food! cheese, more cheese, buttered white bread, salad cream, carb fest spuds, added salt.. blimey! and when was the last time you poured yourself a small glass of wine! LOL!

Bravo though Robin, I am not having a dig at all! Its tough to change habits. why not try and drop a sugar in the tea? or go to 1.5 sugars, then 1 etc..

The bread is Danish Lite and its lite (75% less) fat butter, I have my own 2 shelves in the fridge now :D

so do i! and the top one is empty!! It was my stella/kronembourg shelf.. saving 160 calories per can.. and lets say i might have had more than one per night...

along with the other answer above to Tony, the Cathedral cheese is also 30% less fat and the Lighter brand, these are all changes to what we'd normally buy and already add up to a significant reduction in fat & calories without having to change too much at first!
