The EFL Thread

Yes. 😄

Since he took over from our start-of-the-season captain and No.1, he has been excellent.

Hamer man of the match by quite a long way, and Watford score after an hour with their first shot on goal. If QPR players could finish, it would have been 5-2.

But this is what happens to teams in the relegation zone: confidence is low, players don't take their chances, and this reduces confidence even further.

Forest Green sack Troy Deeney after 6 games in charge. Is that a record?

10 minutes is the record 😳.

Forest Green are a basket case, Deeney needed to think more before opening his mouth. No surprise, although 6 games is good going 😄

Tough game for the Boro, ’v’ Rotherham today. They did a good number on the Boro in the match at their place. There position doesn’t reflect the style of football they play.

We need to start making more use of our set pieces. Getting the ball in the box is fine, just can’t seem to get it in the net

Rooting for the Spirites of Chesterfield as they currently look very strong at the top of the National League. A cracking community club with a very solid and relatively large fan base (took 8,000 fans to Watford in cup couple of weeks back).

Twelve pts clear of 2nd placed Bromley and 13 ahead of Barnet with game in hand over both, though todays away game against Barnet postponed.

Great team to watch, and frustrating, apart from the results. Good luck for the rest of the season, after today.

Morning all, Argyle fan here.

Already been a roller coaster season for us, lost our manager just before Christmas and 4 loanees in the window.

New manager in though, Stevie G's assistant Ian Foster, and he's brought in 2 lads from Spurs and 3 others in the space of a week already.

Apart from a couple of poor games we've played much better than our position, IF we can keep Whittaker we're staying up.

Cardiff at the Theatre of Greens today,

JANNERS!
Down in Plymouth
We're all known as JANNERS 🎶🎶

And agree about Ben Hamer, Watford goalie.

We played out an amazing 3-3 in horrendous rain and wind on New Year's Day, he made some superb saves to keep them in it in the 2nd half. 👏

Be an amazing achievement if Argyle stay up on the budget they are operating compared to almost every other club in the division. A good mate is diehard green army so have a soft spot and follow their results.

Should be a comfortable home win for Argyle today. We've been largely dreadful since beating our two closest rivals in the space of a few weeks back in the Autumn.

Southampton looking very impressive today also

Further down, Macc F.C's upward progress has stalled. I've been told there's no more money to just pour in and we need someone with dosh to come in. 3000 crowds is very good though. RS has quietened down, so that's a relief. I'm thinking of joining the gym there. £17 a month and just around the corner.

Absolute game of two halves for us. 8-0 at half time wouldn't have been flattering, then in the last 15 mins we decided to let Swansea have the ball and go to sleep for a while, in the end we were lucky to come away in the points. Oh well got to win ugly occasionally. Up to 2nd again, and a massive game tomorrow which I think I will be hoping for a draw

Some gap between the 3 sides that came down and the rest of the league this year, squad wise at least. The other 21 will be hoping thing are a bit easier next year but the gap above the middle of the championship above gets bigger and bigger. Leicesters wage bill rumoured to be well in excess of 5x as much as Plymouths for eg

Preston getting what they deserve for trying to play like a pub team 🤣

Shocking to see what's happening at Reading. A very unique situation as the owner is a billionaire and has simply walked away seemingly content to see the club go to the wall.

Is he wanting the ground, training facilities etc for other use, ie housing? I'm trying to see what the angle is 🤷🏻‍♂️

Or does he just have so much money that he doesn't care? Has someone at Reading upset him and this is his revenge?
