I noticed a couple of threads tonight on people struggling with their driver.
I have been having massive problems with mine lately. (a huge slice & no distance)

The rest of my game is progressing nicely, but was being ruined by my awful driving.
I have tried everything to cure my slice, trying my best to imitate the correct swing, I am not sure what the problem is, I think I either don't turn my body enough or my weight transfer is rubbish.

So I thought stuff it, instead of getting frustrated, lets find what works for me, after a bit of trial & error I hit upon a comfortable & repeatable driving position / swing that seems to work for me.
I played today & pretty much everything was straight & long.

It may not be technically correct, but it appears to work for me & beats the hell out of fishing for my ball in the hedge at every hole, I suppose my point is that for those like me that are struggling with the driver, don't be afraid to experiment a bit & maybe do your own thing.

Plenty of good players with a swing that isn't textbook over the years. It is all about where the club head is at impact. Get it in the right spot and it doesn't matter how you deliver it (within reason)

i think it's your second shot that makes your drive. if you leave your ball in a decent position for the second shot then your laughing, i don't worry about distance at all.
