I started off over there some time back, it was so poor I wrote to the editor with some ideas to get it moving, I never got a reply from him so asked if anyone know of a more active forum, Shark Attack told me about this place and I have not looked back since!

Oh and those 6 replies you got would take about two weeks to amass. I have no idea why they would not want to embrace a community. For the record I think there mag sux too, I unsubscribed at Christmas!
 
I think shark attack is the only person who posts in there his name is on everything. I mean I'm told that, not that I've ever been in there or anything!
 
Thanks all for the warm welcome i am not used to so many replies I actually subscribe to TG but buy g world and monthly every month but don't tell the wife. Have also been disappointed lately with content of TG so might cancel. Abit about myself I play at a parkland club called Enmore Park in Somerset It held the English boys championship last year and hosting the brabazon in 2013 im 38 am married have a 2year old daughter and wife due in may.ive a handicap 6 and play once or twice a week. Work in security at a nuclear power plant.
 
just managed to upload my Avatar took me ages to do it but sorted now. its my Angry Birds Head cover love the game so made the head cover
 
Welcome along Tab. You'll love it here. Just jump straight in and enjoy yourself. By the way, do you use a chipper? Also, people on here really like to know how far you can hit your 7 iron and driver.
 
Welcome onboard. I spent two weeks on TG when I first started playing. Never getting that time back again. Also wrote to the editor... Tumbleweed. They have had a mare IMHO long live GM!!! And welcome to the madhouse!

A chipper that's like a swear word to me nothing beats using a 7 to a sw for chipping. As for distance never been measured but 7 iron approx 160 yrds havent a clued really bout driver I'm not the shortest or the longest of hitters at my club. I'm 6.3 weigh 17stone and use a x stiff callaway ft9 at the moMent but do own a g15 i15 and a tm superdeep driver and looking to try the razr fit soon.

I have the FT9 but have benched it due to it launching like a super powered PW. I put the Cobra S9 pro in the bag and the launch angle is much better. Good work on the chipper front though.

You jest, but it was only ever yourself and andybla that ever replied with any kind of common sense! They really need to buck their ideas up, as I reckon this place is growing nicely by the day! I have been here about 2 months now, and see hi I'm new posts almost every day!

People coming here for a reason!
 
I remember when I first started buying magazines I got both GM and TG. TG visually looked miles better as GM was a bit dated. As time has worn on GM, which had superior content, significantly improved its aesthetic and invested more effort into their online community and digital development. TG, well I'm not exactly sure what it is they did but nowadays it's more like a copy of Heat than a serious golf publication. The reader tests with the SAME group of readers every month!!!! Mental.

They've got bigger fish to fry than sorting out their forum. GM now reads AND looks better. I subscribed to TG for two years because effectively they gave it to me for free with the purchase of a dozen Z-Stars. Now I feel I get better value just buying the Z-Stars!
