First time i passed was in my instructors burgundy Mk3 Fiesta. He was so fat, i had to push his leg out of the way every time i wanted reverse (or first? cant quite remember. Was reverse top left or bottom right?)
Anyway, second test i passed i cant remember what i was driving!!

Was supposed to be the instructors Austin Metro (the car I "learned" in, all 4 lessons) but at the start of the test the Metro wouldn't start. Bit of asking around and ended up passing in one of the test centre worker's Lancia Delta Integrale. Still, to this day 23 years later, one of the best cars I have driven. Would love to buy one but a good one is way out of my range.

I started to learn in a Mk.1 Ford Escort but passed in a Mk.2.
My brother learnt to drive in my Dad's Austin A30 but a week before the test my dad changed it for a Mk.1 Vauxhall Victor estate (about three times the size of the Austin) with a column gear shift. Needless to say he didn't pass
