The Big Three......Really

I think the whole "big 3" is a bit contrived to be honest. They have a long way to go to emulate Palmer Nicklaus and player and there are several other players who could easily make the claim to be as good, or better.

If they find some consistency in the majors for the next few years then, maybe. But a bit premature for me at the moment.

But, yes, Rory is struggling in comparison to the other two at the moment.

Well said they all have a lot to do to earn the title of the big three especially Rory who IMHO has no place in it given his recent form.

He doesn't have an A game and he is struggling big time to cope and get himself into contention week in week out so why class him in the Big Thre when he clearly isn't
Eh? No A game????

just to clarify, what is the timeframe you are measuring him by? And who would you class as the current top 3?

If we're going to be pedantic, really there's only a big 1
The gap between Day and Spieth in the OWGR is bigger than the gap between Spieth and Rory and then there's a bigger gap to Bubba and the rest.
And with Day likely to better Spieth this week, he'll be even further ahead.
All this talk of big 3s or big 4s or even 5s is just media hype - gives them something to write about.

The best players re at the top of the WR...it's what they measure over a 2 year period.

Have to agree with this, they are good but still feel it is quite open and anyone can turn it on and win from lower down.

OK if these guys are on form they will likely win, however this could still be said for players likes of Bubba, Adam Scott etc.

Rory needs to stop obsessing over how buff he looks and how far he can hit it and put his time into the short game area. He destroyed the field as a scrawny young lad but now it seems Nike want him to look like a poster boy and not just play like one.

Yep, he's loving himself a bit much at the moment and he's forgetting that he's meant to be out there golfing on a Sunday afternoon!

They are the best 3 players in the world so by definition they are the big 3! They are the players people want to see. Adam Scott wouldn't be far off if he gets his form back either. The big 3 won't win every event, they might not make every cut but they'll more than likely be there or thereabouts.

And in the memorial where both Spieth and McIlroy played Rory was a good ten shots clear of Speith ( only 2 weeks ago )

Spieths most recent win was no bigger than the Irish Open

Don't disagree with what you're saying about Mcilroy, but that Irish Open field wasn't close to the D&D. It had a dozen major winners in it, doesn't get too much deeper in a standard PGA event. I'd be surprised if the Irish had half of that? It was also more recent than the Irish.

I think that if they all play to maximum Day has it.

I think rory tee to green is immense but his putting will always be streaky. So he could easily win by 10 one week then struggle the next.
spieth the opposite. Best putter by a mile but the rest of the game has to be on to allow that putting to matter.
Day when on seems to have every part of the game.
