The 18th tee and you're one up.

Where do you draw the line between common sense and the rules?

If you hit a shot into the rough, just off the left of the fairway, get to the ball, and realise you can’t find it. Is it ok to throw a ball roughly where you think the ball was, instead of walking all the way back to the tee? Seems common sense really?

No doubt I’ll get called various names for stating this, but if you aren’t playing by the rules, you’re not playing golf.

You could not have claimed the hole as the penalty only applies to the player in breach and not there partner. Rule 30-3f applies.

B***er - beat me to it

Some of us don't know the rules as well as we think we do :)

Claim the Match!!

I think the correct answer to Bob's question is to hit my ball to about 30 feet hole the putt then say "that's the best 30 footer I've holed all day" and watch as the shock and pressure cause my opponent to miss his putt short and right.

:D :D :D

If you holed your second you would have won anyway with a half at worse for you :D

I'd feel a right **** if I picked him up for announcing the club that he used. Would be a hollow victory so would play the last hole and may the best man win.
