That Course You Always Play Well At!

We all have them!, it doesn't matter how bad you just hit it at the range, but when you step onto the 1st tee of a certain course, you have that "tiger" moment and turn it on (and thats your game, not the nearest Waitress!)

For me i have two!

Brean Golf Club -- My "home of golf". Was a member there for my Junior Years and has that special place (violins out!) with me and always play well there

Oake Manor Golf Club -- Just a pretty golf course, that i always enjoy, even more so that i have always been under my handicap there!

For some reason I always seem to play well at a course I don't particularly like. Cold Ashby in Northamptonshire, played there twice with our works society and once with the club - 41 & 42 points with the society and a 5&4 win for the club.

Always do well going back "home" to Wimbledon Common and frequently roll back the years. I seem to do quite well at Maidenhead too for some reason. No rhyme or reason to it

Any of the Gleneagles tracks. Just being up there raises my game. The scenery, the facilities, beautiful greens and lush fairways......golfing heaven for me

Kirriemuir - which is strange because I tend to fare well v. the field on longer courses, and badly on courses where there are a lot of halfr shot approches, and kirrie has more than any course I can recall, yet I always do well there.

Conversly, Boat of garten, my all time fave course, and yet to break 80 in 8 tries, though did shoot 72 in their greensomes last year with my identically handicapped partner.

Normally play well at Brora, untill the 18th anyway.

Shot a 72 gross around Forres off the whites but only played it once and for some reason The Struie at Dornoch i always score well.

Gullane No.1. No idea why it happens but yet to go over 80 on there. Also yet to lose a game played there.

Wyboston Lakes. It is flat, not very long and if you avoid the drink pretty forgiving. Usually shot low to mid 90's here and on any other course I struggle to break a ton.

We have a shortish hilly 9 hole local which for some reason I always play badly.

A whole course I always play well at is pushing it, but there are certain holes and stretches of holes I play well at.

First 6 holes at Hanbury Manor.

17th at Whitehills I always drive the green, no matter how bad I've swung the rest of the day.

And the 4th to 13th of my course... I'm rarely over par on that run, just drop shots all over the rest of the course
