yes yes I know the week we had earlier in the month was wonderful, long hot days and shorts all the time.....

BUT, I dont know about your courses, but ours is fairly sandy and drains extremely well, meaning the week we had just burnt the place to a crisp, leaving a lot of the fairways brown and rock hard, with just the greens still lush and green, albeit very very firm, and stopping the ball became harder.

Now that we have had a fair bit of rain again, the course is looking fantastically lush again, the fairways are gorgeous, and the greens receptive and like carpets.

I'll take Warm & Wet over Hot & Dry thank you . :D

You ?

No. I have got soaked the last three rounds I have played, and am now fed up with it. I get enough of that all winter, spring and autumn. I am going to the practice ground later, and guess what, it is raining again.

Yes, the course needs it, but it is a pain. If it rained only at night, that would be perfect.

I like it hot. Bring back the summer.

played 36 tuesday, wet nearly all day, wet gear on, wet gear off , pain in the proverbial.

about to head out for matchplay doubles and socking great black cloud moving in!

bring back the sun!

Loving the rain today as I'm working, forecast is lovely for tomorrow. Course will be immaculate in the morning for my singles 1/4 final. :D

I like the seasons to be seasons!

I'll do soft and wet in the winter thank you....right now i'd kill for a bit of sunshine and warmth.....it's summer for christsake!!!!!!

Dont get me wrong, I dont like playing in the rain, but it certainly keeps the courses looking spectacular, and you can play to greens that hold.

Beautifully warm & sunny here today.......

i just take it as it comes, i don't really give a hoot, people go on about rain making it miserable!! and are sad if every body lived life with a possitive outlook life would be so much simpler

Sorry, but the rain is getting on my nerves.

Last Friday we had our works annual outing first tee time was 3-00pm (18 holes only). Sitting in the office , it started to get overcast about 12-00 and not much later..........yes youve guessed it, it started, and by the time we got to the tee it was HAMMERING down, but we still went out.

The outcome was... we got 7 holes in before the greens flooded and we played 'nearest the puddle at the par 3 5th.

Then today I had a lesson booked to try and cure my bunker problems.........thunder and lightning as I drove to the range......range bunker flooded.........lesson cancelled.

And to crown it all, I am playing on Sunday and just looked at the weather and found out that a 'depression' is travelling over Scotland and is due to arrive the same day.

Looking forward to an Indian Summer, well any kind of Summer actually

Rant over.

In the Midlands it has been almost tropical rain for nearly three weeks now.

I'm injured at the moment and so not able to play anyway, but our club car park is considerably emptier than it was in June.

Playing in the rain is inevitable in the U.K but this sin't just rain....this is S&M rain!
