I’d love to see him do more YT stuff, it would break the internet, I wonder if his ego is too large though so he’d see it as being below him.
Doesn't Tiger hate YouTube golf? I'm sure I remember a clip where some young budding golfers asked him for one piece of advice and he said "stop watching YouTube"?

No idea, I don’t really watch much golf content on YouTube. Going on that comment I take it as he’s telling them to get out of the house more 🤣

I think it was more related to 'tip' and 'lesson' videos where you can get bogged down in a lot of different ideas that don't really apply to your swing. It was said with disdain though.

That's probably good advice.

I reckon virtually all pro golfers who give lessons would generally say the same, even the YouTube ones (albeit probably privately). But, ultimately if they want to extend their profile beyond the reach of their own golf club, YouTube is the best vehicle for that.

I bet someone like Dan Grieve is making an absolute fortune after becoming a youTube golf instructor. Especially after hearing from my mate, who has gone on to his site to see what types of lessons he offers, how much they cost and the fact he looks pretty much fully booked for a long time.

Grieve has tapped into a great niche with short game though. People's full swings can have so many different foibles, but I feel like a chipping technique is something he could pretty much teach to anyone.

I said exactly that to my mate.

He isn't just a golf instructor who teaches every type of golf shot, there are very many of them. He specialises on one aspect of the game. A very important part of the game. A part of the game in which every golfer can believe they can perfect like the pros (whereas most of us know that whatever we do in the normal golf swing, we'll never smash a drive 350 yards). Most of us want to do better at short game, and I'm sure we all know a few people who are absolutely dreadful at the short game (and we can have periods we are dreadful ourselves).

If I ever decide to offer specialist advice on golf, I may focus on the best castle tee to use for any given shot

Completely wrong time slot for it to build any sort of interest here in the uk. Plus the fact it’s rubbish.
It's more of a TV show to consume at your leisure than live sport that is best watched in the moment, so that isn't really an issue and Sky have been showing repeats at all hours.

Yes, the real reason is that it is not good, when it could and should have been, especially given the extra year of planning they had after the dome collapsed.

Mainly due to the fact it’s on during prime time US time

It’s peaked enough interest in the US

Decent enough US viewing figures
It's been repeated at all times of day and promoted endlessly during other broadcasts. It would be hard to miss if the interest was there.

It's certainly being portrayed that way by the PGA Tour affiliated section of the media and internet.

The viewing figures halved after the first couple of weeks, and never recovered.

Got an average of half a million each event

Not the worst when it’s just looking at US figures

It’s the first run - they will prob look at what changes they can make to improve it

As it’s linked to the PGAT I’m not surprised it’s being promoted by them
