Tell us about your day, good or bad.

No golf for me - just waiting for the washing machine repair man to call!
HID and the Boy are Oop North so went to see Ma and Pa to use their washing machine!!
Hopefully getting a few games in the week including a trip to Leicester on Thursday - looks like it could be a wet day..

Woke up at 2pm after not sleeping until 6am. Stuck on the radio and fell asleep again. Woke up again at 3pm to a goodbye from HID on her way to work. Got up and made mince fajitas for breakfast/lunch and had a smoke. Considered throwing away the tobacco and instead had another smoke. Sat on my backside in front of the telly for most of the day watched a bit of the football on sky then decided to clean out my cold water fish tank and test the water of my tropical tank as I'm having trouble getting it to cycle. While waiting for the results to develop I came on here. So basically I did feck all.

P.S: Ammonia is raised and no sign of nitrites or nitrates. I hate this tank!

didnt play today but played yesturday. recent form has been shocking, but after a great lesson and range session thursday i was more optimistic. we had an inter club match in stableford pairs, me and my partner knocked out their comps captain (7 hc) and vice captain (13hc) 4 & 2..... out of 5 matches we were the only ones who won our match from our club, chuffed!

Shot a five over par for 40 points. But was in a 4bbb tournament. We had 43 points, having blobbed the si18 par 5 13th. Knew it was gone there and then. winner had 45 pts. Second had 43, third had 43, and we were out of the prizes in 4th place on count back. Nice.

Happy to have played well, but that is about it really.

Played Saturday morning, bit of a breeze but not bad temp wise.

Slow start as usual, +5 for the first 5 holes then a couple birdies and a par before hitting the back 9 and level par for that.

not due toplay now till Saturday again as its dark at just gone 5 up here now:(

Very pleased with yesterdays golf. Just missed breaking 100 for only the third time, shot 101. However the weather was terrible (wind and rain) so I'm well chuffed. I also had my first birdie since I started back playing last year and I managed to do this during the worst of the weather.

Good day's play on Saturday. Played in the swindle, drawn with club captain who's off 6. Beat him on gross score so got his attention for a scratch team call-up next year. Won our fourball match, took first in the swindle and took home the loot. Tidy.

That said, I played really well tee to green but couldn't hole a putt for love nor money. Four lip-outs for birdies. Didn't make a par on any of the four par 3s :o A gross 78 that could have been a 74 without too much fuss. Time to sharpen up the short game, methinks.

What a great day I had.

My lad's 18th birthday and he wanted to go out golfing with the old man & we had a great time. Weather was perfect, played matchplay and I honestly don't know what we scored overall but it was decent stuff and nip and tuck all round. He has improved a lot recently so its the first time we have been so evenly matched. It came down to the last and unfortunately he messed up his approach big time so while I wanted to end with a draw there is no way he would allow me to 6 putt for a half so I walked off the winner. Shame really as it would have been a perfect result to a perfect days golf - cant get better than playing against your son on his 18th can you???

A few beers in the clubhouse - another first of course. Saw Man U getting stuffed :)

Then we had a meal out with all the family and got home in time to watch Luke's back 9 to round off the day perfectly.

Absolutely the best day I have had for ages :)

Aaaaww, Hickory, that's given me a warm fuzzy feeling inside reading that! Another example of what a great game this is. Really hope I'll get to enjoy some days like that if I have kids.
