Teeing Ground

You are probably right, because it's quite a few years since I last played Rugby. I know it's different to football, where as long as the ball stays in, the player can step over the side lines.:)

Line has 'always' been outside field of play (or over in the case of Goal Line) in Rugby - both codes.

In football the whole of the ball has to cross either the touch line or the goal line.

I fail to see the relevance of this in a rules forum.

You do realise how much shorter these threads could be if you stopped "trying to help"?

I tried to help on one of these the other day, it didn't work and I was shot down. I read through the replies, understood them and now consider myself more educated, as well as realising I should leave it to the guys who know the rules much better than I.

Do you see the difference in our two approaches?

The relevance is that some of the myths of golf may be carry overs from the rules of other sports! :mmm:

But surely the purpose of this part of the forum is to get the exact answer, with the exact terminology and not confuse the answers with perpetuating and/or even adding to the myths. No one, as far as I know, want every ruling on here given the a Delc treatment!

OOB? WH?

Still worth posting imo - as long as you can accept that you might get 'shot down'! Otherwise, it's likely that your misconceptions are never corrected.

The inability to (simply) admit error is not a positive attribute imo; and can be a dangerous one!

Regardless of what the correct terminology is, its clear what delc means and the constant shouting down of his point just looks foolish.

Is that a case of " you can't see the myths for the tees"
