Tee booking

At my club for summer competitions on a saturday we have a draw once a month - on a Monday night - one person from fourball goes to club and gets a ballot ticket, when your ticket is drawn out you pick your time. They run a system where the last twenty from the previous draw automatically get to pick first the next time although I do not agree with this bit our sysytem seems to work ok as we usually get a time 30 mins either side of what we prefer. There are then separate draws for the biggies like captains day

Previously our club had the thursday evening draw monthly wherea rep from each fourball had to be in attendance to pick a tee time, if you wernt there or were late and missed your name, you went to the back of the queue. Thisw year its electronic and there will be some sort of draw that way.

CC07,

How do the members at your club manage to book the exact same tee time every Saturday for 30 years? I know pals who have left clubs because of such systems. I would. It's a no brainer.

Shouldn't they take their chances like everyone else by only being allowed to book a time a certain amount of days in advance, like most sensible clubs? In other words, first come, first served.

A mate of mine gave up his membership of Leven because of such cronyism. Shouldn't be allowed, in my book. :D

I am leaving my present club due to relocation with my work, however for the 2 years I was a member there,in every competition it was the same groups, and when electronic booking was introduced during the week as well all the same groups booked up the same times weeks ahead. If you fancied a casual round you had to plan to tee off before 7.30am or after 4pm. The difficulty I had finding 3 members who were willing to play a round with me so as to sign my scorecard for handicap qualification was immense and it will definitely be an issue when looking for a new club at my next location.
