Hi All. New to the forum so apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.

If someone is a full member at one club and a flexi member at a second club in the same county, can they represent both clubs in team competitions against other clubs? If not, can they choose which club they represent or must it be their main club?

Finally, at their second club, their handicap shows as an 'away' handicap. Does this affect anything at their second club?

Thanks for your help ?

Depends on the County rules I believe but usually you commit to playing for one club for the year and cannot represent the other in county level events. This would normally include inter-club league matches but may exclude friendly matches if both clubs agree.

You get to choose which club to represent - unless the flex member club has a rule requiring player to be full members to represent the club (unlikely).

Your question really needs to be addressed to your county association. In my county you would only be allowed to represent one club in each team competition, but that could be either club. This may not be the case for all counties though.

You may only have one home club for handicap purposes, that club is responsible for ensuing handicap accuracy mionitoring A review etc. Should make no real difference to you or either club which you choose as your home club, though makes most sense to nominate the club you play at most.

Your County association will have a creature called the Terms of the Competition for any competition that they manage. Often they are available on the County website so widely accessible. All the details of eligibility will be in there and often it has different eligibility for different grades/events within their association competitions.

The terms of competition will (or should) specify any restrictions, which usually would only being able to play for one club per season unless granted permission to transfer. County unions commonly have no jurisdiction over independent leagues, so it is often entirely possible to represent multiple different clubs in different competitions (i.e. club A in county comps, club B in one independent league, club C in another, etc.). EDIT: Most (if not all) counties specify "home club for handicapping" for their comps; independent leagues/comps tend to be less restrictive.

With regards to handicapping, there are a few scenarios where having a home/away handicap makes a practical difference; e.g. some inter-club competitions specify that players may only represent their "home" clubs, and some clubs restrict entry to certain (or even most/all) competitions to "home" players.

Your main club is known as your 'Home' Club in handicapping terms. Any other club is known as an 'Away' Club. Your Handicap Index is the same at all clubs.
