Taylormade Rocketbladez

Not a big fan which is a big leap considering my bag make up. Edging towards the Ping, new Cally or Mizuno if I change but still going to see how the smaller tour head looks and plays before turning my back on this offering

Isn't everyone supposed to be selling up to buy nike gear now Rory has made the leap?

I must admit I saw the RBladez in DG at the weekend and they reminded me of the burner 2.0's. I don't really like the look of them, but then I've never really been attracted to Taylor made. The new callaways, is it the x forged? Look lush. And definetly the i20's or possibly the i25's soon..
The new jpx pros look good too, but im biased towards Mizuno :)

My mate has got the new JPX pros and they look lush

Why is everyone saying "lush" all of a sudden.

Isn't it a phrase teenage girls use to describe their latest boy band crush?

Maybe it's made the leap to middle aged men looking for shineys  :smirk:

I like TM clubs but I wouldnt buy any iron with a slot like that on the bottom purely because it will fill with cack and will forever need cleaning.

I have the new jpx on order, they're great irons, quite classic looking at address considering they're "game improvement" , not a huge amount of offset, feel amazing, doesn't seem to matter where you it it off the face, every shot feels like you centred it and goes like you centred it.

Ironically i was custom fitted by Mark Crossfield

I always enjoy Mark Crossfield videos, he says it as he sees it but still doesn't rubbish anything much.

I agree. Top bloke and he cuts through all of the BS that marketing departments come out with but still gives an honest review. I think in this case he is saying that it is a decent iron but all they seem to have done is call it a 6 iron when most other manufacturers would class it as a 5 iron from the shaft length and face angle. And it sounds a bit strange.

Strangely enough I got a second hand 19 degree MX700 at the weekend and I compared it with my Rocketballz 19 degree hybrid (that I can't get on with). And the Rocketballz shaft was about 3/4 inch longer. Which is fine, but I am a bit sceptical of all the claims of extra yards being down to the club head when some of it is due to lengthening the shafts, which as Mark points out, makes it harder to control the ball. Especially for happy hackers who clubs like this are mostly aimed at.

I picked up a set of these (5-PW) brand new for £290. To me they aren't as chunky as everyone claims, they are actually the same length but smaller club face to my previous set. I am hitting them further (obviously because of the lofts), but the ball flight still compares the same to my previous clubs. I agree with Mark that it's more of a mental/confidence thing as I reckon I was kidding myself on how long I could hit my previous clubs. But they are very forgiving, I can actually see the flight correcting itself when I slice/hook them. They also feel really nice when you hit the ball, I wouldn't go as far as saying like forged irons, but deffinately better than traditional cast steel.
