I agree. Top bloke and he cuts through all of the BS that marketing departments come out with but still gives an honest review. I think in this case he is saying that it is a decent iron but all they seem to have done is call it a 6 iron when most other manufacturers would class it as a 5 iron from the shaft length and face angle. And it sounds a bit strange.
Strangely enough I got a second hand 19 degree MX700 at the weekend and I compared it with my Rocketballz 19 degree hybrid (that I can't get on with). And the Rocketballz shaft was about 3/4 inch longer. Which is fine, but I am a bit sceptical of all the claims of extra yards being down to the club head when some of it is due to lengthening the shafts, which as Mark points out, makes it harder to control the ball. Especially for happy hackers who clubs like this are mostly aimed at.
It's all a big sham. TM claim the Rocketbladez 6i flies 10yds further than an AP2 6i and the the slot has something to do with this. The TM 6i has the same loft and shaft length as an AP2 5i (in fact it's half a degree stronger).
My AP2 5i flies 12 yds further than my AP2 6i, but my AP2 5i doesn't have the speed slot so how is this possible...I guess it must be to do with the loft and length but I'm no expert
