TaylorMade 09 Burner Driver

Just started using this driver. Stock shaft is 46.25" long which is .75" longer than my previous driver.
I am 5'9" and I do feel I have to swing a bit flatter than before. Not getting any more distance and wonder if taking the shaft down to 45.75" will have any detremental affect.

I had my Ping G5 cut down from 46" to 45".

The pro said I could exchange it if I noticed a difference. I didn't, only it's much easier to use now.

Sure, the swing-weight WILL change, but better to be comfortable in my opinion.

Tks for the response. Been out for social game today played first 8 holes choking down slightly on the Burner then had a go with my partners Callaway FTi (square) and continued to use it for back 9. Haven't hit anything straighter or longer for years, might be one of those situations where you try something, it works, you buy it and it doesn't work but I am going to have another go with it during the week and I might just be tempted......
