Tattoos

None for me and unlikely in future.

How much does a tattoo cost? Small one? Arm? Whole back?

I have two and the guy that did mine quoted me £160 for a four hour sitting for each ,one took a little bit less than that and the other took approx. 5 and a half hours but he still only charged me the 4 hours quoted, not a massive tattoo but lots of detail.

Suppose it's all about opinions, but that is not for me.
Far enough, it's her body!

Crikey... what a smashing looking lass who has scribbled all over herself! Maybe that's the generation gap widening in front of me! :-) Difference is the punky hair and safety pins/new romantic daft hair and clothes/heavy metal clobber of my adolesence can all be "washed out, cut and replaced" .... this stuff will take lazer surgery as a minimum.

She is very attractive though in my opinion, and the tattoos in her case wouldn't put me off.

I think attitudes are softening in society as more and more people have tattoos anyway. I'm sure the number of industries where neck or small face tattoos would prevent you getting a job are lessening.

You are still restricting your job prospects though. There may be more options than in the past but they are still a barrier to many. Getting a decent job is tough enough without making life even harder for you.

The lady in the piece has certainly achieved her aim, she is virtually unemployable apart from her target job. People may not like that but it is reality.

I don't know if it's as extreme as it used to be though. Some sales & marketing type positions where you're meeting customers all the time, yes employers may not want someone who looks like that. But I feel like a lot of office based roles they wouldn't care these days.

I agree. Back office is fine but customer facing, no still. Companies will not take the risk.

I would never have taken the risk of employing anyone like that even behind the scenes, as jobs change and that employee may be best suited to a customer facing job and it may be considered discrimination if they were denied promotion because of the tattoo's.

So in order to avoid discriminating against them in the future, you'd opt to discriminate against them from the get-go instead?

Id be covered in them if I wasn't terrified of needles!! Always liked them but can't bear the thought of the process..... probably a good thing, I've no doubt I would of made some poor choices in my youth!

Is it discrimination or protecting his business in which employing her could harm his business. And is it discrimination when she has set out to ensure her tattooss make her unemployable. Think her choice of words has harmed others with tattoos

I think the difference with tattoos, why I would not class it as discrimination although I don't know legally where we stand, is that tattoos are a choice, an option. No one forces you to have one. It is like dying your hair bright pink, your choice and there may be employment consequences from that. Think before you have them.

I hate needles but have had 5 tattoos done and want more. once you get over the initial part I find it quite relaxing.

I don't know why people don't have those henna transfers instead.
No pain, quick, a fraction of the price and you can change them every fortnight if you change your mind.

I think she's lovely looking and the tattoo's don't bother me. I find some tattooed women incredibly attractive and am a big fan of the suicide girls

Not as simple as that! I see your hate and raise you my terrified!!! I have a condition where I need bloods taken every other month for last 12 yrs or so....think I'm used to it? Pffft I'm usually a couple of weeks late for every test working myself up to it! Takes about 2 minutes...... doubt I'll ever cross that bridge

She's absolutely stinking and has a nose like Michael Jackson's.
