Taste Card - Bargain food!

Thought I would share this.

I recently subscribed to a free 3 month trial of Taste Card. It's normally £69.95 to subscribe for the year and gives you either 2 for 1 on food (the cheaper meal is free) or 50% off the full food bill at a huge variety or restaurants throughout the UK. There's even a great wee iPhone App so you can search for restaurants near you.

Used it first time yesterday for Sunday lunch at the WestRoom in Edinburgh and had a great meal with the better half. Me - rump steak and chunky chips, £9.50, her - a splendiforous steak burger & chunky chips (normally £8) for FREE.

Think I'll be using this a lot over the next 3 months. I have my eye on a couple of nice Indian restaurants in my area next.

I was quite surprised at the choice of restaurants. There are plenty.

And the iPhone App is great. We were just wandering about up town yesterday, decided to go for food, checked which restaurants were nearby which were part of the scheme, looked at the menu on the iPhone, phoned to book and bob's your uncle. Very impressed.

Bear in mind, wet sales are still full price but some restaurants do 50% off food for up to 12 people. Jeez. Fridays and Saturdays are sometimes excluded. The iPhone App tells you all this.

I would check that. If the La Tasca is close to the venue, they will usually not offer any promotions on nights that have events.

Nice one. Mine arrived within the week, Rob, and they added a couple of weeks to allow for postage to you. So it's valid until 10th May for me. The girlfriend got one too as she goes out with her pals for dinner quite often. That way we can go out with friends and use both. Sorted.

That sounds good John, I will sign up as well.

I always use VoucherCloud on my Iphone - think it does the same thing i.e checks where you are and what deals are available. Used it this weekend at Carluccio's for a 2-4-1 main course.

Thing is this also many other sections such as Retail, Days Out, Leisure and Entertainment. Worth a look IMO.

It's in the odyssey in Belfast, there is something on most nights if not all. I'll be booking actable this week and will ask though as there are others places too.

My wife's Tste card has just arrived. Happen to be going to meet the inlaws for a meal in London on Saturday lunchtime and the restaurant gives a 2 for 1 offer to card holders. That is £30-£40 saved sraight off.

Brendy - not wishing to steal J_F's thunder but download VoucherCloud on your IPhone if you have one. Just checked and you can get 50% off tapas to share at La Tasca @ the Odyssey when I looked.

You basically redeem at the restaurant and it gives them a code to tap into the till.

It just ends after the 3 month trial, Homer. They say they will email you before the trial ends offering you a 12 month membership at an exclusive price, though.
