Your alignment looks off, feet closed, shoulders open (would explain the left to right shape as the clubs get longer)

Apart from that, looks good, especially the tempo.

Welcome to the forum by the way

Dazza, Firstly mate, Welcome to the forum.

So the expert can really assess you, he has set out a number of questions he would like answering before he gets to work.

They are the following.

Do you have regular coaching at the moment? If yes, what have you specifically been working on?
What do you consider to be the strengths of your game?
Weaknesses?
How often do you play/practise?
What is your scoring average/handicap?
Do you keep stats?
What is your strike/shot/shape pattern for the following clubs
Driver/Tee shots
Fariway woods
Rescue Clubs
Long/medium irons
Short irons
If you do not want to post the info then forward it direct to me neilplimmer@tiscali.co.uk

Just copy and paste and then insert your answers in a reply post below!

I am no expert so wouldn't offer advice, but I like your swing! Nice work.

Edit Neil drops in every few days, he will pick this up when he logs in.

Nope not at the minute, had quite a few lessons when i was younger was attached to an academy also.

What do you consider to be the strengths of your game? Putting

Weaknesses? Consistent Driving

How often do you play/practise?

Range once/twice a week with 18 holes at the weekend

What is your scoring average/handicap? no handicapp at present was at 15 when i was 13 or so. Last round was 90 so cant complain to say i havent played for years

Do you keep stats?

no

What is your strike/shot/shape pattern for the following clubs
Driver/Tee shots

left to right .

some times start straight move right.

Fariway woods

fairly straight sometimes left to right

Rescue Clubs n/a

Long/medium irons

fairly straight - left to right slightly

Short irons

straight - very occasionally left to right

I wish my handicapp would be lower, just need a bit more time on the course and the range to hopefully pick up from when i was younger. Joining my local club come july so plan of action is to get a handicapp and work on getting down to where i once was. Then get it even lower!!!

cheers for the replies!!! :)

Thanks for posting your swing
Good tempo and balance to your motion, you will soon be hitting some great shots and scores

Adjani hit the nail on the head when he mentioned your alignment.
As you will see your feet, knees and hips are pointing to the right of your intended target and your shoulders and forearms are aiming to the left.
This is an extremely common issue and one that I deal with with at least 90% of my pupils
I feel that there is no way that you are going to consistently swing the club online if you have to compensate for poor alignment. This will need sorting out. The best way to deal with it is not on the range. I am not a fan of working on your alignment on the range, this is because the view that you have and the surroundings/environment never changes and this makes it impossible to develop awareness of what correct alignment looks and feels like.
You have to get out on the golf course and feel that your feet/knees/hips aim to the left of target and your forearms/shoulders aim out to the right. I guarantee that this will feel extremely strange!! Stick with it, it will be nearer correct than you think.

I have talked about this on previous posts
Imagine having Tiger Wood's swing with your alignment? Then imagine taking Tiger Wood's alignment and your swing. Tiger's alignment would improve your swing, but your alignment would make Tiger play worse!!
I always use this comparison because hoepfully it highlights the compensations you will have make during your swing when you misalign at address.

Next time you are at the range, get someone to stand behind you to confirm where you think you are aiming is correct. Then take this out to the course and develop awareness of quality alignment

This is the MOST IMPORTANT basic to get right as far as I am concerned and one that people take for granted. It is also a reason that people hit it great on the range and then cannot take that form out onto the golf course.

Next time you play on the golf course, video your swing while tring to aim feet/knees/hips to the left and forearms/shoulders to the right. Remember what it feels like and compare feeling to what it looks like, there will be a huge difference.

Look forward to hearing how you get on

Dazz, in your video, what were you aiming at?
I only ask because you didnt give us a clue by looking up at your target.
If you were aiming left of the camera angle, your shoulders were straight and your feet were too far right.
If you were aiming right, then your feet were correct and your shoulders too far left. If you were aiming straight, then both were wrong.
Does that make sense?

bobmac, i watched the first two foot of the ball flight, i believe this is where dazzaj is aiming, as the clubface impacts nice and square; its from that target line i guesstimated the feet are closed and shoulders open.

With the short iron hes hitting in the video, not much left to right is evident in the flight, but will accentuate through the longer clubs, especially the driver.

I know, I just wanted to make sure that was where he was aiming.
