I don't know if you're all like me (i don't throw much away)
Question 1 how much kit do you own that you don't use anymore.
Question 2 (don't know if this has been raised before as I am fairly new to forum) But.... has anyone thought of donating their "surplus" gear to under privileged kids etc.. AND if so which charity/group would you consider donating to?

Vig.

Hi.
Not so long ago there was a topic on such a thing, and to some of us it was a surprise that you could 'donate' old / unused kit to some schools etc.

In todays ebay society I think that it's very honouable to donate your old kit to get youngsters involved. Okay it may not be up-to-date, but it introduces new blood to the game, and who knows a new Tiger!

Ah, so thats what they do with the trade in gear.
When I visited for the first time last year to update my 15yr old gear I didn't trade in irons (sentimental duffer that i am) I don't have a use for them now. and a few others and the odd putter.
I traded an old driver with an head smaller than modern 3 wood. Thought the guy was taking the P when he showed me a variety of drivers. "they can't be legal" Boy have i been out of the game too long......

I recently took two half decent trolley bags, three really old putters (Ram zebra, Ben Sayers Justin - a brass Ping Anser copy and some cheap rubbish the wife bought when she was learning) a Wilson staff 2 iron, several umbrellas - one unused.

They couldn't give me any cashback and I didn't need any new kit but the manager let me have a plain Callaway polo shirt and a cap. RRP of approximately £30 so I was more than happy.

I'm not looking for any finacial return, just thought they might be better served giving some young underpriv a chance to do something that they wouldn't necessarily do. Also one less on the street picking bad habits up.
